Blind Item: Which Hit Drama Series is Plotting a Dramatic Change of Scenery in Season 2?

As any TV expert will tell you, the success or failure of any series comes down to the three L’s: Location, location, location!

OK, that mantra actually applies more to real estate than reel estate, but one should never underestimate the importance of choosing the right setting for a TV show.

Which brings us to our latest blind item…

Rumor has it that a hit freshman drama series is packing its bags and heading to a new hood in Season 2.

And not just any hood — the biggest hood in the world: New York City!

The move would herald a dramatic (and spoilery) storytelling shift for the show in question, which is why we’re withholding the title… for now.

Which show do you think will be mailing out a change of address card ahead of Season 2? Hit the comments with your theories! And for additional clues, follow me on Twitter via @MichaelAusiello

    Homeland?

    • Snapy says:

I think so too, but I hope not. I don’t think the story will be as interesting in “the city”.

    • Kate says:

I am pretty sure Emily Van Camp even mentioned them switching to NYC in an interview recently so not sure how blind this is.

    • CJ says:

They’re only at the other end of Long Island as it is. It wouldn’t be that big a change, plus it’s completely plausible, since the Hamptons are best known as a retreat for people from NYC.

      • Nicole says:

They said that this would be the case even before the show premiered back in September. I definitely remember reading that the show would change locations to the city once the mystery of what happened with the shooting on the beach was solved so that they could proceed with a trial. This isn’t news.

        • S says:

There would be no basis for having the trial in NYC… So that can’t be why they are going to NYC.

          • Suzie says:

No, the interview said they’re sticking around the Hamptons for the trial, since it was committed there. That gives them an excuse to stay there after summer’s over. And then they go to NYC.

          • jules says:

Depending on teh charge (terrorism), the trial will be in Federal COurt. There is no Federal Court in teh Hamptons, it’s in NYC. So if they move, this could be a reason why. Although I think it’s more of the fact that the Hamptons is a summer retreat and if they’re going to showcase them year round, they’re going to move where most of these people likely live during the winter.

    • Lauren K says:

ding, ding. We have a winner

    • ArianeB says:

Mere process of elimination says Revenge. Its a freshman show right? Ringer, Unforgettable, Person of Interest, 2 Broke Girls, Whitney, A Gifted Man, Pan Am, and Prime Suspect are already set in New York City.

Hart of Dixie and Suburgatory are both about people that left New York for other lifestyles, it would defeat the purpose of the show for them to move back (though it would be quite a twist). Grimm, Secret Circle, and Once Upon A Time are locked in to their settings, making a New York move just silly.

So what does that leave? Revenge, Homeland, and Up All Night. Scratch the latter because MA says its a drama. So it has to be Revenge or Homeland QED, and Revenge makes more sense.

    • Melody says:

      That’d be my guess.

    • GDM says:

this, they’ve already said they’re moving to NYC so this isn’t much of a spoiler Mike. for shame!

    • julie says:

my thoughts as well. while they could conceivably stay in the hamptons all the time (a la Royal Pains, where it’s always summer) considering these people only live there in the summer, I can see moving to NYC. I don’t think it would be any less interesting there although i am wondering about this show’s longevity once her identity is revealed.

    • Ed says:

I actually don’t think it’s Revenge. While I can see the show moving to NYC, it feels too obvious to be a blind item. And a shift to NYC for Revenge would not be a “dramatic storytelling shift,” as the blind item states.

  2. Hannah says:

    Revenge.

  3. Robb says:

    Revenge…

  4. Anna says:

Probably Revenge. How long can they stay in the Hamptons?

  5. Tara says:

    It’s gotta be Revenge.

  6. Matt says:

American Horror Story. Not sure how that would work, but that’s my guess.

  7. cms1979 says:

    REVENGE!

  8. Anonymous says:

    Isn’t “Revenge” doing this?

  9. KT says:

It’s Revenge. Read an interview with Emily which confirmed as much.

  10. Connie says:

    I’m thinking Revenge!

  11. Heather says:

My guess is Revenge. They will be need a change of scenery from the Hamptons after this season.

  12. Alex says:

    Gotta be REVENGE…

  13. Michael says:

It’s obviously Revenge, right? They can only stay in the Hamptons for the summer. They have to go back to NYC at some point…

    • Tania says:

It’s not Homeland. Actors on this series have mentioned that they will be back in North Carolina in the new year to begin filming Season 2.

  14. Katie says:

This is hardly a blind… clearly it’s Revenge. You yourself have reported on the rumors that the action would shift to the city at some point soon.

  15. Taniya says:

I’m gonna go for Terra Nova, OUAT, or Persons of Interest?

  16. Ashley says:

    Revenge! Duh.

  17. Joe says:

    Goodbye Storybrook!

    • Amber Louise says:

It’s a vital part of the story that these characters can’t leave Storybrooke, so no.

      • Bernadette says:

Well, that’s what I thought… Once Upon A Time. Hey, they’ll run into Giselle!

Besides, I took Michael’s use of “hood” like a Jeopardy answer.

  18. marcela says:

    I think it’s Revenge !!

  19. timelord says:

    homeland. boom

    • julie says:

check new spoilers – Not Homeland. I’m going to stick with Revenge but it’s already been reported so doesn’t really seem like a blind item.

  20. mad mike says:

    Game of Thrones

  21. anthony newhall says:

    revenge

  22. Jules says:

    Once Upon A Time

  23. The Illumi-Nerdi says:

    Once a Upon Time?

  24. Ginny says:

First thought I had was Revenge?

  25. Kyle says:

Haven’t they already established that Revenge is moving to New York City? It isn’t really a blind item. It’s been mentioned in multiple interviews.

  26. Rick says:

    Revenge!!!

  27. Michelle says:

    Revenge. Totally.

  28. Rob says:

    Obviously Game of Thrones

  29. Lambsilencer says:

    REVENGE comes to mind… but that’s not really a well-kept secret… :)

  30. Joe says:

Looks like it’s a goodbye to the quaint town of Storybrook!

  31. Michael says:

Hahahahaha love that all the comments are pretty much in agreement that this “blind” item is about Revenge.

  32. TC says:

Revenge. Summer is over in the Hampton’s, back to the city.

  33. RICHARD HILL says:

    Revenge.

  34. Jonathan says:

American Horror Story…thanks for the spoiler!

    • Dani says:

Yeah, I think it could be American Horror Story too. The house they used for exterior shots is on sale, so I’m thinking the next season can’t be located there.

Then again, you have to wonder what that means for the ghosts of the house. Guess we’ll just have to see!

    • Kathryn says:

Every heard of Glee? Obviously not based on your post. RM and BF would not relocate production of one of their shows across the country.

      • Ace says:

They could relocate the setting without moving the production site. Plenty of shows (Castle and HIMYM come to mind) are set in NYC and shot in LA.

I’d say it’s either Revenge or AHS.

        • Miranda says:

They have a replica of the house built at the studio for filming. They just based it on that house. they don’t need it to film the show
