Exclusive: Up All Night Recruits Alanis Morissette as Ava's '90s Bandmate

NBC’s Up All Night has dug deeper into Ava’s (Maya Rudolph) pop star past and turned up a surprising collaborator: Alanis Morissette.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Morissette has been tapped to guest star as a hip-hop legend from Ava’s ’90s band, Sound LLC.

Up All Night has referenced Ava’s musical roots before, most notably via this hilariously cheesy, Robin Sparkles-esque music video…

The reunion between Ava and Morissette’s Amanda will air in early ’12.

  • Love this news! And yes, the “Basically” video f/Jorma Taccone is one of my favorite clips…

  • …and I might not be as furious with NBC if they asked Alanis to do a “The More You Oughta Know” ad. [insert groan here]

  • Love this show; now I can’t stop noticing people who are trying to “tell a story” with their clothes, cars and other over accesorized belongings.

  • Who cares!!! Prefer Raising Hope..more fun
Chemistry between the actors is obviously better!! Sorry for mrs. Appelgate, waste of her talent…
NBC as lost their minds/power and their lineup/shows are so bad….(except for Grimm)
Far far away from thoses good shows like my ultime favorite Miami Vice…now it’s only crappy comedy with boring comedians..not better at ABC or CBS -predictable-
But it’s a bit pathetic when they ask/cast singer to guest star or joint a show who may not survive past is first season…
