The TVLine-Up: TV Worth Watching This Thursday

On TV this Thursday: Our Meg Masters swings by Salem, Mrs. California comes to Scranton (stat!), and more. Even with CBS in repeat mode, we found 13 programs to keep on your radar.

(Check daytime listings) Days of Our Lives (NBC) | TVLine’s Los Angeles-based West Coast Editor, Meg Masters, went out and bought her first winter coat for her walk-on role as a news reporter [see photo, second from right], so make it worth her while, ‘K? Besides, sources tell me if her appearance goes over well, she’s getting an evil twin named Peg for February sweeps!

8 pm Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town (ABC) | … and he’s giving Charlie’s Angels lumps of coal.

8 pm The X Factor (Fox) | Two more shall be sent home for the holidays. Plus: British rap star Tinie Tempah performs his latest hit “Pass Out.”

8 pm Community (NBC) | Jeff and Shirley unite to defeat a group of arrogant students who have commandeered the school foosball table; when Annie accidentally breaks Abed’s limited edition Dark Knight DVD, she claims that someone stole it — setting off an unpredictable chain of events.

8:30 pm Parks and Recreation (NBC) | In “The Trial of Leslie Knope,” things come to a head for Leslie, taboo beau Ben and boss man Chris.

Bones First Look: Booth Is Dealt a Personal Blow, While Hodgins and Clark Get Medieval

9 pm Bones (Fox) | Booth processes bad news from his grandfather (guest star Ralph Waite) while solving the case of a body sent to the “dead letter” department at the post office — in several icky-gooey packages.

9 pm CMA Country Christmas (ABC) | Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles hosts this two-hour special featuring performances by Lauren Alaina, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Scotty McCreery, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts and others, plus Vince Gill in a duet with Miss Piggy.

9 pm The Office (NBC) | Robert California brings his wife (ER vet Maura Tierney) to the office to find her a job; Dwight opens a gym in the building.

9:30 pm Whitney (NBC) | Stressed out over being Lily’s maid of honor, Whitney consults her therapist (guest star Chelsea Handler) — but a prescribed solution only causes more mayhem.

TVLine’s Guide to Fall Finale and Winter Return Dates

4:20 pm 10 pm Weed Wars (Discovery) | This new series takes an up-close look at the operation of a controversial medicinal cannabis business — namely Oakland’s Harborside Health Center aka the nation’s largest such dispensary.

10 pm Prime Suspect (NBC) | Duffy pawns off a routine hit-and-run on Jane when he thinks the case is a dead end. How much ya wanna bet this “routine”/”dead end” hit-and-run suddenly gets very interesting?

10 pm Burn Notice (USA Network) | When Sam has a surprise reunion with Beatriz (Ilza Rosario, reprising her role from The Fall of Sam Axe), Anson forces Michael to hunt down the Russian spy who’s after her before Sam does.

10:30 pm The League (FX) | The guys are psyched for a visit from one of the out-of-towners (played by SNL alum Will Forte), but he shows up much different than they remember (perhaps dressed as a Jenna Maroney impersonator?).

PRIME SUSPECT tonight. In a way NBC couldn’t save this cop drama the same way other canceled series especially the new ones wouldn’t be “saved”.

Tiny fix: Parks & Rec should read 8:30, not 8
(either way, I’ll be watching it along with Community. Best hour of comedy! :)
