The TVLine-Up: TV Worth Watching This Friday

On TV this Friday: Chuck battles his BFF’s frosted tips, Nikita smells a (pretty) rat, Dean Winchester takes on a new partner, and more. As a supplement to TVLine’s original feature stories and reporting, here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm Chuck (NBC) | In what is far-and-away the best episode of the first three, Chuck fears that the Intersect may be corrupting Morgan’s brain, while Sarah helps Casey navigate his relationship with Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss). As previously teased, watch for a “tango” of sorts between Casey and Gertrude, and some crowd-pleasing hand-to-combat between [spoiler] and [spoiler].

8 pm A Gifted Man (CBS) | When Michael learns that a patient (Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey) with a brain tumor committed a ghastly crime, he struggles with whether to save the man’s life; a firefighter (Off the Map‘s Mamie Gummer) who appears to be disoriented is brought to Holt Neuro.

8 pm Nikita (The CW) | When Michael rushes off to help Cassandra, Nikita becomes suspicious when the damsel in distress’ story doesn’t add up; Alex mulls a tempting offer from Percy.

CSI: NY First Look Video: Danny and Flack (Absolutely Do Not) Meet Their Match!

9 pm Fringe (Fox) | The Fringe team investigates time loop anomalies with help from an electrical engineer and his physicist wife, who are played by real-life marrieds Stephen Root (Office Space) and Romy Rosemont (Glee).

9 pm Supernatural (The CW) | While on a hunt, Sam has a confrontation with someone from his past; Dean teams up with a quirky, laid-back hunter named Garth (Road Trip‘s DJ Qualls), when he finds himself in a situation he just cannot explain.

9 pm Bill T. Jones: A Good Man (PBS) | Filmed over two years, this American Masters doc details the creative process behind the most ambitious work of the director/choreographer’s career: a dance-theater piece in honor of Abraham Lincoln’s bicentennial

9:30 pm The Last Play at Shea (Showtime) | Narrated by Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), this documentary chronicles the emotional final concert performance at Shea Stadium by Billy Joel, before the historic baseball arena was torn down.

Casting News: Ringer Books Supernatural Fan Favorite Misha Collins

10 pm Sanctuary (Syfy) | In an episode directed by Robin Dunne (aka Zimmerman), Magnus gets tied up in an Abnormal scheme, while Will gets into trouble at the Liberian Sanctuary.

10 pm Blue Bloods (CBS) | Jackie goes undercover as an escort when she and Danny track down a serial killer who targets prostitutes; Erin meets a potential suitor (played by In Plain Sight‘s Fred Weller).

10 pm Real Time With Bill Maher (HBO) | The Season 9 finale’s roundtable guests include MSNBC news anchor Chris Matthews and commentator Andrew Sullivan (The Dish).

  1. Jrs says:

Not a single one here!!! Looks like a dvr night

  2. kevin says:

Still watching CHUCK on Fridays. Looking back at the first two episodes of the final season still makes me become a real fan of the spy series.

  3. Carol says:

Gifted Man and Blue Bloods as always. Hoping to hear that Gifted will be renewed.

  4. GK says:

    Supernatural & Fringe tonight.

  5. M says:

Nikita 4 me. The only show i watch ‘live’

  6. Vlad says:

Looks like it’s just chuck and Nikita tonite :)

  7. TinCan says:

    Grimm I Like it!!!

  8. rob says:

No mention of Grimm, what gives?

  9. Karen says:

    Fringe and nothing else.

  10. Sourabh says:

Looks like it’s going to be Fringe, Supernatural, Chuck, A Gifted Man, Nikita and Grimm. In that order.

  11. Ana says:

I’m so hooked with Grimm… Was hoping to see it mentioned here.

  12. Claire says:

LOL, because the return of that character to Supernatural is so fresh and new and so not-at-all redundant.

Fringe/Grimm it is then and I’ll rub my hands together gleefully at the fact my Neilsen box is now tuned elsewhere on a Friday night.

    • Dave says:

What’s funny about your statement is I know for a fact because I used to be on that if you are a Neilsen family and have a box that you are not supposed to tell people that you are a neilsen box owner. It is supposed to be kept confindential so either you are really stupid or just a liar.

      • Mary says:

        My money’s on liar.
Statements such as that one are what’s redundant, I’m pretty sure you made the same meaningless claim at least a dozen times in past Supernatural articles. We get it, you want Cas back, and don’t want to watch without him. Can you please just enjoy Grimm/Fringe or another show and stop repeating the same thing over and over again. Thanks.

      • Claire says:

Oh no, I’m sure the people at Neilsen are already dispatching their trained assassins to take me out.

        Grow up.

        • Dave says:

          I need to grow up?????
You could have easily made a statement like “Don’t care about Supernatural anymore. I will be watching Fringe and Grimm.” Instead you GLEEFULLY (Your words not mine) rubbed your hands together at the fact that your Neilsen Box will be tuned elsewhere on Friday night. Like people are supposed to be inpressed or something. I believe you are the one that needs to grow up and if you are indeed a Neilsen Box holder actually follow the rules. Children don’t follow rules very well.

    • Rebecca says:

If you actually had a NIELSEN box, you would know the correct spelling of its name.

  13. Anna says:

Chuck!!!! :) and Grimm probably wasn’t put up here because the ratings are already so high. Its the highest rated NBC show. Cmon guys. Chuck needs help!

    • Wolfman Jacque says:

This was a better Chuck episode. Let’s hope the quality can continue to rise and the series can go out on a high note.

  14. Marz says:

    Chuck & Supernatural for me!

  15. ifGrace G says:
