HBO Schedules Early Debut for New Drama Luck

HBO is offering an early look at its new series, Luck, following the Season 2 finale of Boardwalk Empire.

The cable giant will now unveil the Dustin Hoffman-starring racetrack drama — which makes its official debut Sunday, Jan. 29 — more than a month ahead of schedule on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 10/9c.

The Futon Critic first reported the news.

Penned by Deadwood‘s David Milch and directed/executive-produced by The Insider‘s Michael Mann, Luck offers a provocative look at the owners, gamblers, jockeys and industry players within the world of horse racing.

Other cast members include Nick Nolte (The Thin Red Line), Michael Gambon (Harry Potter), Joan Allen (The Contender), Dennis Farina (Wiseguy), Jason Gedrick (Boomtown) and Patrick J. Adams (Suits).
