Ringer is dipping back in the soap world’s talent pool.

Days of Our Lives alum Brody Hutzler has landed a guest spot on the CW thriller, TVLine has confirmed. The actor first revealed the news via Twitter.

Hutzler will play wine connoisseur Jason Sheridan, the handsome and supportive husband of Upper East Side socialite, Greer, who — as we first reported — will be portrayed by Madchen Amick. Both are set to appear in Episode 11.

The daytime vet’s other TV credits include The Young and the Restless, NCIS and Angel.

Ringer Exclusive: Kris Polaha Sheds Light on the Big Murder Mystery

No stranger to casting actors of the suds variety, Ringer‘s freshman season has already seen appearances by Y&R‘s Billy Miller and Michelle Stafford, as well as All My Children‘s Justin Bruening.

  • You think they would have went with his Buffyverse connection. He played Lorne’s brother during the second season of Angel.

    • Actually he was Lorne’s cousin.

      Landok.

      Landokmar of the Deathwok Clan.

Even Kris Polaha was on the show as Billy’s (Mr. Primordial Misogyny in season 3) cousin.

    • I don’t think they would have. The purpose of an article on a site like this is to get as many hits as possible, not to cater to a niche market. Everyone knows about soap operas, not everyone knows about Angel. Yeah, Sarah Michelle Gellar was on Buffy but that doesn’t mean that every Ringer article has to include some connection to a Joss Whedon show SMG wasn’t even on. Besides, she’s a former soap star and given the amount of soap stars that have been on Ringer, the soap angle seems pretty reasonable.

  • Love Ringer and looking forward to the addition of Jason and Greer. However I already miss Gemma and hope she comes back (love her and still think that she and Bridget should be the besties that Gemma and Siobhan were not) and hope that not too many will be brought into the fold. In interviews prior to the debut, SMG said that the show will not be a puzzle that fans must put together and that answers are given quickly. So far she has been right. The show is exciting and suspenseful and very enjoyable.

  • We need James Marsters!!! Please create for him some cameo. And make him blond again.

We should star some online campaign. I remember when they did new 90210 and cast Jennie Garth for a few episodes and everyone were screaming: “Where is Brenda Walsh!” And after few weeks producers had to cast Shannen Doherty. Buffy fans should start campaign for Buffy/ Spike reunion. And then they would have to bring James Marsters :)

    • I don’t want to be mean or anything, but people have to seriously move on. They already had a reunion with the whole cast and now Tara Benson is appearing…. that’s more than enough.
This is not Buffy and it will never be Buffy, enough with the reunions. Buffy was a great show that had a great run but it ended and it’s done.

    • James Masters is a terrific actor, but I don’t want to see JM and SMG together unless it’s a Buffy movie. Bringing him on Ringer wouldn’t be a real Buffy/Spike reunion.

  • Brody started on Guiding Light years ago. I love that Ringer is using these soap stars and that SMG never forgot her soap days.
