Covert Affairs, Sherlock, Fringe and Warehouse 13 Enter Our Law-Enforcement Crushes Tourney!

You won’t need a microscope or even a magnifying glass to uncover the hotness of the players in Day 5 of our Ultimate Law-Enforcement Crushes Bracket Tournament.

Indeed, today’s matchups involve undeniably boyfriend-worthy characters from Blue Bloods, NCIS, Rookie Blue, Criminal Minds, Sherlock, Covert Affairs, Warehouse 13, and Fringe. By this time next week, only half of the combatants in our 64-player, single-elimination showdown will have advanced to Round 2, so don’t procrastinate — be sure to vote, and alert your friends and fellow TV junkies while you’re at it!

Tomorrow, the “classic” half of our bracket continues with characters who are gone from our screens but hardly forgotten. Eventually, our battle will boil down to a finale that pits the ultimate old-school crime-fighter against the ultimate modern-day hero. (Their female counterparts will have their turn in November.)

Every afternoon over the next few weeks, we’ll launch another set of bouts that will have you committing crimes and misdemeanors on the off chance one of our competitors shows up to cuff you. So make sure the right choice is made by heading down to our polls to vote for your favorites (Round 1 voting will be open for 72 hours), and hit the comments to justify your picks.

(Oh, and in case you’re wondering/fretting, we put a cap of two cast members per show for the bracket, which meant some fan favorites had to warm the bench this time around.)

What’s more, if you’re interested in the matchups we’ve got planned for the coming weeks, CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT THE ENTIRE 64-PLAYER BRACKET (then click again for a zoomed-in view), and sign up to follow me on Twitter @MichaelSlezakTV.

Now ready, set, vote!

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. Laura says:

That’s not fair pitting Mark Harmon against Tom Selleck!

  2. Trish says:

Agreed Laura! So not fair to pit those 2 against each other. Boo!

  3. Morgan says:

I have to choose between Pete and Peter?! :(

  4. V says:

And now Auggie against Sherlock?! I may have to abstain from that vote, because I just can’t choose!

  5. Tiffany thistle says:

SAM SWAREK FROM ROOKIE BLUE ALL THE WAY.

  6. Kathryn says:

Oh man, this bracket is killing me!! First, you put my fav guy currently on TV in any show, Sam Swarek, up against Derek Morgan, who is an amazing hottie too. Then Frank Regan is getting beaten by Gibbs from that tragically overrated NCIS show. UGH!!!! Shoot me now.

  7. AnnClau says:

Seeing the bracket, some choices will be hard.

  8. Melody says:

Peter vs Peter – you are cruel, cruel, cruel people! How am I supposed to make a decision between a smart ass Secret Service Agent and a smart ass FBI Consultant? How am I supposed to decide between the soft, warm and often silly eyes of the Warehouse and the steely, curious, intelligent gray eyes of the younger Bishop? Oh Cruel World!

    • Melody says:

This time around the votes go to: Peter Bishop and Peter Lattimer (the only time I voted twice), Auggie Anderson (yay, Auggie and Annie are back next week!), Derek “the most beautiful smile on TV” Morgan, and Leroy Jethro Gibbs (hopefully my vote will keep me from getting the head slap).

    • Karen MT says:

I completely agree! I finally had to fall back on my old teeny crush on a certain Duck.

  9. Katy says:

Awwww man this is a hard one today!!! Especially Pete vs Peter -had to go with my life long crush (I’ve liked him since Mighty Ducks when I was younger, through Dawson’s Creek as a teen into Peter Bishop now I’m all growed up lol) but I love Pete, too!! Arrgh!!! :/

  10. Denise says:

This bracket is so not fair… all my favorites are up against eachother… damn

Josh vs. Eddie; Shamar vs Ben; Mark vs. Tom — cruel and unusal punnishment to only have to choose one. I chose Josh, Ben (on my summer obsession – Rookie Blue) and Mark but damn.

And why wasn’t Donnie Walhberg in any of these?

  11. Sam says:

Why is this even a question? It’s gotta be the awesome Rookie Blue’s Sam Swarek! for reals! :)
    Also Pete Latimer.

  12. Tanya says:

AAHHHH…can’t decide between Sam Swarek and Derek Morgan. They’re both gorgeous!!!

  13. Hannah says:

There’s a lot of hotties in this tournament, and a lot of people I’d love to have win this. But in my household, it is an indisputable fact that Shemar Moore is the most beautiful person on television. I mean, just look at him.

  14. Maureen says:

Shemar Moore does not deserve to be on the same page as Ben Bass. Who’s trippin ! :)

  15. kat887 says:

Okay. Stupid question. Crushable as in easy to have a crush on or crushable as in easily defeated? I just want to be sure I vote the right way.

    • Amanda says:

Crushable as in easy to have a crush on.

Two of my top three didn’t even make the bracket.

      Spencer Reid and Neal Caffrey.

At least Auggie Anderson is there.

      Whoo-hoo!

  16. Dana says:

Shemar Moore for the win! Every day is Shemardi Gras!

  17. Ella says:

Seriously, I have to choose between Auggie and Sherlock?!?!?!?!?!

  18. Amanda says:

    Spencer Reid!!!!!

    • Alicia says:

I know, it’s a shame. TVLine should add a wildcard round for characters (Reid) egregiously overlooked.

      • Melody says:

I watch Criminal Minds for two reasons: 1. Spencer Reid 2. Derek Morgan. I can deal with the horrific storylines about terrible, terrible people just to watch those two.

        • Alicia says:

lol, I watch for Hotch, Prentiss, Reid, JJ, Morgan–basically the sexy people.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the show itself, but it’s become less about profiling and more like horror porn. Soooo at least the team is reunited…

  19. Mindy says:

Peter on Fringe is not a cop. He isn’t a law enforcement officer of any kind. He is a consultant to the FBI. Hired for science research and to (basically) babysit Walter. Are you going to call Walter a cop?

That said, I totally voted for him. LOL.

    • RKron says:

Sherlock Holmes isn’t a cop either XD

And I also voted for Peter, regardless of him qualifying in this competition.

    • Kathryn says:

Dexter is by far the biggest reach in this whole thing. A vigilante serial killer as law enforcement? LMAO!!!

      • Ashley says:

Actually, Dexter works as a blood spatter analyst so he’s in the law enforcement community. His checks come from the same place as the cops of the MDPD, so yeah, he counts.

  20. donna says:

I don’t watch Covert Affairs but I love Gorham in Harper’s Island. LOL.

  21. Brittany says:

How is Sherlock not winning?! I don’t want to live in this world.

  22. Min says:

Sherlock is losing?!?!? This is unacceptable!!!

  23. henninggirl says:

I think I would be too intimidated to have a crush on Sherlock if he actually existed. I’d be a lot like that poor coroner who’s been crushing on him so hard for three episodes. ;)

  24. Chinadoll Rose says:

Sam over Derek easy. AND Gibbs beats a Reagan without a doubt!

I don’t watch the others so I’l be nice and stay out of those two. :)

  25. Jenn F says:

Peter Bishop vs. Peter Latimer is just wrong. Nobody should have to choose between these two.

  26. sarah says:

This bracket is so unfair! My two favorite men on t.v. right now, Ben Bass and Shemar Moore are both gorgeous! Super hard decision, but it has to be Ben Bass(Sam Swarek!)

  27. Fae says:

I love Tom Selleck, but I love even more my silverfox, so Mark Harmon all the way. :)

  28. JustineK says:

    Peter!, Sherlock, Derek and Gibbs;)

  29. Sam says:

Sam cos he’s awesome as we all are ;) (just kidding) (Rookie Blue) & Pete Latimer (Warehouse 13)
    Ta :)

  30. Andrea says:

I don’t care HOW old Mark Harmon is! I’m in my early forties, and with that smile and those eyes, the man is still all kinds of smokin’ hot!

  31. Shemar Moore VS. Ben Bass is a tricky one but I’m going to have to go with Shemar!!! TOO HOT!!! I’m still a loyal Rookie Blue fan though!!!

  32. Sherry says:

What kind of cruel people are you!?!? Trying to make me chose between Sherlock and Auggie!?!?! I can’t do it…I just can’t do it!!

  33. Tawrens says:

You wamt real sexy Jeffrey Dean Morgan as John Winchester. There’s a man who can take care of Supernatural crime.

  34. Chante says:

Shemar over Ben sorry but that was a hard decision!!! It’s like Tassie Ccameron VS Tyler Perry!!! Gonna have to go with the Shemar side in the end!!! I still love Rookie Blue everyone!!!

  35. Karen says:

    Gorham for the win!!
