The TVLine-Up: TV Worth Watching This Tuesday

On your TV this Tuesday: Ducky’s date with an Angel, a few rounds with the real Rocky, old-school zombies and a SAMCRO showdown. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features and reporting, here are 12 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm NCIS (CBS) | While the team investigates the murder of a Navy lieutenant who died of (eek) forced over-hydration, Gibbs meets Ducky’s new lady love (played by Charlie’s Angels alumna Cheryl Ladd). Ergo his name is now “Lucky Ducky.”

8 pm The Biggest Loser (NBC) | A Halloween-themed installment features a haunted maze and, yes, lots of candy. Mean.

8 pm The X Factor (Fox) | It is now time for the first live performances, scattered across no less than two-and-a-half hours. (Think about it: Playboy Club barely ran that long.) As revealed on Twitter, “five of the 17 acts will be eliminated by the judges” tonight.

8 pm The Real Rocky (ESPN) | This ESPN Films entry looks at Chuck Wepner aka the Bayonne Bleeder aka the scrappy Bayonne, N.J. prizefighter who inspired Sylvester Stallone to write Rocky, if not outright compensate Wepner for the idea.

8 pm Zombies: A Living History (History) | This two-hour special explores the story of zombies beginning at the dawn of civilization (including as referenced in The Epic of Gilgamesh) and continuing right through to The Walking Dead.

8:30 pm Man Up! (ABC) | As noted weeks ago, all freshman shows get two (2) free passes on the TVLU, then need to earn their keep. So… this week the freshman ABC comedy sends the fellas to a Star Wars screening!

TVLine’s Male Law-Enforcement Crushes Tournament Begins: NCIS vs. CSI: NY, and More!

9 pm Dancing With the Stars results show (ABC) | If only because Kristin Chenoweth is performing…?

9 pm The Rachel Zoe Project (Bravo) | Season 4 closes with “Take Your Baby to Work Day” — at least as far as separation-anxious Rachel is concerned.

CBS Orders Full Seasons of Freshman Dramas Unforgettable and Person of Interest

10 pm Unforgettable (CBS) | Carrie and Al investigate the murder of an heiress who apparently didn’t exist until 18 months earlier.

10 pm Sons of Anarchy (FX) | Did last week leave you hanging? Wait until you see how tonight’s episode ends. P.S. Do not open the duffel bag. P.P.S. Do not eat the chili.

10 pm Flashpoint (ION) | When a ransom drop goes wrong, Team One is drawn into the dangerous world of “international express kidnapping” — for when the abducted absolutely, positively has to be in Thailand overnight!

10 pm Body of Proof (ABC) | American Idol alum Crystal Bowersox guest stars as A) an ex-con, B) a former druggie, C) a murder suspect, or D) All of the above? [The answer is: D!] Read our interview with the singer-slash-actress here.

  1. Asha says:

Must be a slow week if The Biggest Loser is worth watching.

  2. Lily says:

I don’t understand the “supplement” part. Where/what are “TVLine’s original features?”

    • lauren says:

I _think_ it means that if they have a big story on, say, Bones, that it won’t necessarily also hog a spot on this list?

    • Darcy says:

It means that before, they were doing these once a week but they’ve changed it so now its once a day so you see more shows that are worth watching.

    • Dana says:

Since this confuses so many people (myself included) and I always look here for “what’s on tonight” maybe Matt could include the time, show name, and a link to the other article. It’s kind of nice (and convenient) to see everything in one place.

Ex: yes, there’s an article about tomorrow’s Happy Endings episode, but it would be nice if it were still included in TVLU as a reminder that it’s on – and just add a link to the article. That readers are less likely to miss the article (or the show) if the article gets buried down the page by more stories.

  3. Alicia says:

NCIS! :) Hope tonight’s ep is good, though I zone out when Ducky talks, so we’ll see…
