TVLine Items: Lost Alumna Joins USA Series, The Game Plans Sister, Sister Reunion and More!

Penny has found a new constant.

Lost fan fave Sonya Walger has landed a role in USA Network’s upcoming buddy cop drama, Common Law. The actress — who most recently co-starred on ABC’s short-lived FlashForward — will play Dr. Emma Ryan, “a smart, attractive psychiatrist with a keen sense of humor,” EW.com reports.

Common Law stars Warren Kole (The Chicago Code) and Michael Ealy (Sleeper Cell) as constantly-quarreling detectives forced into couples therapy — hence Walger’s shrink.

6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park, an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary film on the long-running animated series, will premiere Sunday, Oct. 9 at 10/9c on Comedy Central. You can take a look at the trailer here, but fair warning, there is (of course) some offensive language.

  • I loved Sonya as an actress ever since I first saw her on Lost and later on Sleeper Cell. Unfortunately her role on Flash Forward wasn’t really big, and she didn’t get to shine as much.

But I’m glad she has a new starring role coming up, and with it being a USA show it’s almost guaranteed to be a hit and be on the air at least for a couple of seasons. And she’s reunited with Michael Ealy, her former co-star on Sleeper Cell.

I’m also hoping she will guest star on The Good Wife, where she would be great as an cut-throat attorney opposite Alicia/Julianna or as a bitchy ex-wife from a rich political figure.
