House Exclusive: Hugh Laurie on House Going 'Off the Deep End' and 'Exploiting' the New Girl

House leading man Hugh Laurie admits that his alter ego went “off the deep end” when he crashed his car into Cuddy’s dining room in last May’s finale. “Nobody died,” he notes in the following exclusive behind-the-scenes clip, “but they only don’t die by the skin of their teeth.”

House Spoiler Alert: Who’s Wentworth Miller Playing?

Season 8, premiering Monday, Oct. 3, picks up one year later and finds House serving time in prison for his crimes. “We thought it would be a great contrast to flash forward a year and see that he’s been in jail for the past eight months,” says executive producer Greg Yaitanes. Adds Laurie: “House survives by his wits, and I think a certain amount of respect has been given him. He’s essentially been able to sell his medical expertise. [But] it’s a old, rough place, and House does get knocked around a bit.”

I’m really looking forward to the S8 premier, I am fed up with the constant bitching of Huddys cause they didn’t get their way.
Please LE has moved on, if you don’t want to watch the show anymore move on. She has moved on to The Good Wife so you can too.
I dont hate her but lots of her fans are nasty and just want to hurt the show why?

    • PEACE says:

We don’t want to hurt the show, we are ticked that a show we liked has committed suicide by keeping bad writers and letting go of excellent actors. We have a right to be angry about that so let us be! We didn’t just love Lisa Edelstein, we loved Lisa Cuddy too and anything they do to take her out of the script will be out of character for her. House does things out of character and just keeps on going because that is the basis of his character – that he has none. But the writers for this show really can’t write. They don’t bother to research, and they have no idea where they are going in the last season there is A LOT to hate about the show now that they have kept the writers and cast away some of the best of the cast.

that much pent up rage is not healthy guys, go scream into a pillow or something… haha well please continue pointlessly arguing, it’s very fun to watch:p

haha hameron fans and hilsons are so stupid. They think that posting the same crap over and over again under different names will make their points more believable. Back off, losers. Everybody knows you are just a bunch of haters.

As people who just watch the show and don’t read about it realize that Cuddy won’t be back, the ratings will tank. What could have been the best season, thanks to what has to be nepostism in the writing department – and a bunch of inbreds at that – will now be the worst. They should have given all the writers paycuts – not a single actor. The writers are the ones that came up with the lame name “Huddy” in the first place, and the writers are the ones that have not been able to carry the show. Good for Lisa for refusing to back down on a bad deal – the final season of what will be the worst rated final of an eight season show in history! At this point, with no Cuddy, there is no House, at least no House worth watching. The show was poorly researched to begin with. No brilliant doctor in the world would be addicted to an opiate that has enough tylenol or aspirin in it to kill them. DUH! Enough suspension of disbelief. Now we are supposed to believe he just moves on no longer caring about the love of his life, and prime motivator in virtually every season? Cuddy is much more vital to the show than Wilson, despite all of the nutjobs that think otherwise – they probably have not watched every season and every show in a row like I have. I am done now though, season eight is ruined without Lisa the character and the actress. I hope everyone in love with Wilson gets their fill of him, but I doubt it, this has become a completely different show – and one that is not worth even picking up the remote for any longer.
