Modern Family Exclusive: Gilles Marini To Confuse Cameron's Gaydar

Brothers & Sisters alum Gilles Marini will be hanging with some members of ABC’s Modern Family, TVLine has learned exclusively, in a storyline that is sure to befuddle Cameron and Mitchell.

In a Season 3 episode, Marini will guest star as Julian, a friend of a friend of Cameron and Mitchell’s whom they both assume is gay. That assumption, however, proves to be erroneous when the boys invite Claire (Emmy winner Julie Bowen) on a rare “fun night out” and end up leaving her with Julian –- and in short order it becomes clear that this fella is very, very straight.

In addition to his B&S run, Marini has competed on Dancing With the Stars, guested on Castle, Switched at Birth and Nip/Tuck, and appeared in the Sex and the City film.

Modern Family kicks off its third season this Wednesday at 9/8c with an hour-long trip to a dude ranch, shot on location in Jackson Hole, Wyo.

  • Banderas is Spanish and Marini is French, but yeah, I can see the comparison.

    • French from Italian descent, hence the latin skin. I totally see the Banderas comparison, yes. And then he starts talking and it’s a VERY different accent! :-)

This plot is perfect. As a French person in the US, you couldn’t begin to understand how often I hear “he’s not gay, he’s French.” Glad Cameron and Mitchell’s gaydars are getting confused! Awesome! :-)
