Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on Glee, Gossip Girl, Grey's, Castle, SVU, Bones, Community and More!

Got a scoop request? An anonymous tip you’re dying to share? Just want to say hi? Send any/all of the above to askausiello@tvline.com

Question: Will Quinn be meeting her daughter soon on Glee? —Cindy
Ausiello:
Considering the fact that Idina Menzel (a.k.a. the kid’s adoptive mother, Shelby) is returning for a major arc, I think it’s probably a safe bet that Quinn (and possibly baby daddy Puck) will cross paths with their daughter at some point. But the $1 million dollar question is whether the inevitable reunion will awaken any maternal feelings in the teen mom. If the buzz I heard at Sunday’s Emmys is to be believed, it will. And my guess is that can only mean one thing: Quinn’s going to want her baby back baby back baby back.

Question: Any scoop about Glee‘s Karofsky? —Dalanda
Ausiello:
He’s baaaaaack! Or at least he will be come late October, when Kurt has a very awkward run-in with him at a [SPOILER ALERT] gay bar.

Question: I am still dying after watching the season premiere of Castle. Please give us some spoilers on upcoming episodes! —Cheryl
Ausiello:
As if his issues with Beckett weren’t enough to keep him up at night, Castle is going to have his hands full with another woman in his life this season: daughter Alexis. “She’s testing the limits — and where we take her in the next couple of episodes allows her to push the limits even more,” previews series creator Andrew W. Marlowe. “It was always my intent to have Alexis be a good girl and not do anything crazy — we don’t expect her to become a drug addict — but we do get to see that [father/daughter friction] and other issues that she’s wrestling with. She’s at an age where girls struggle with their identity and with relationships, so we have all of that material to play with.”

Question: Any Castle scoop? As much as I love Beckett and Castle, I’d love some news on anything relating to Ryan and Esposito. —Mere
Ausiello:
“This season there is going to be a ‘boys night’ episode [airing Nov. 7],” reveals Jon Huertas (aka Esposito). “Castle and Esposito probably want to show Ryan a good time before he gets ‘locked up’ [in marriage]!” So, where might the guys go for their manly merriment? “Atlantic City isn’t that far from New York,” Huertas hints, “so I imagine we’d try to go there and see how dirty we can get.”

Question: I’m a “Dair” fan, I must admit. Do you have an scoopage on my favorite Gossip Girl storyline? —Nova
Ausiello:
I’m hearing rumblings about a second kiss early in the season, but I don’t know when it occurs or what the context is. But does it really matter? A kiss is still a kiss.

Question: I’m still in denial that Chris Meloni is not returning to Law & Order: SVU. Do you have any more intel on how Stabler’s absence will be addressed? —Kim
Ausiello:
In an early scene of Wednesday’s premiere, it’s mentioned that he’s “still out.” And because of ongoing developments regarding the shooting he was involved in, it is said that he will have to jump through “a lot of hoops” if he wants to return to the job. (And by the way, that’s a big “if.”) It all leads to one of Mariska Hargitay’s most gut-wrenching scenes ever.

Question: When is Cougar Town returning? —Poonam
Ausiello:
Best case scenario sounds like November, per Bill Lawrence. Worst case scenario is January. (Fingers crossed the BCS wins out.) Meanwhile, a little casting scooplet to tide you over: Relative newcomer Briga Heelan has been cast as the very young woman Grayson (unwittingly) impregnated years ago. As I reported in last week’s AA, mother and daughter will be sticking around for quite a few episodes, which means Jules may want to consider trading Big Carl in for a 10-gallon IV drip.

Question: What’s the latest on Netflix or Syfy picking up The Event and doing a wrap-up miniseries? Have you heard anything new in the rumor mill?  —Eric
Ausiello:
Event leading man (and current Parenthood star) Jason Ritter told me Sunday at Entertainment Tonight’s post-Emmy bash that the project still has a pulse. “I’m waiting to get a phone call either way,” he said. “[Producers] Nick Wauters and Steve Stark are still talking to people and trying to get it done. Every cast member I’ve talked too is interested. And I personally would love to at least finish that story up.”

Question: Any Parenthood scoop concerning Sarah and Mark? I love them together! —Mimi
Ausiello:
Well, then you might not like what I’m about to tell you: There’s trouble ahead, and it involves the return of Sarah’s ex, played by John Corbett. “She’s trying to balance Mark and her new life with this man that she has very complicated feelings for,” Ritter explains of Corbett’s Seth. “This is the father of her children and she loves him in certain ways. But she also wants to start anew, and she’s not sure that Mark can take on everything that’s in her life. It’s really interesting. It’s that great thing that Parenthood does. It’s not overly dramatic. It’s just real life.”

Question: I am dying for some Justified scoop. Got any? —Dayna
Ausiello:
Boyd Crowder is so over playing Mr. Nice Guy. According to portrayer Walton Goggins, the old Boyd “will be back in full [in Season 3], and he will probably be in trouble sooner rather than later. There is no more shyness or healing to Boyd Crowder.”

Question: Modern Family! Scoop me, Ausiello! —Jason
Ausiello:
This November, the Emmy-winning comedy will introduce viewers to a little phenomenon known as Pumpkin Chunkin. “It’s when you take a pumpkin, attach a bungee cord and send it flying,” explains Nolan Gould (Luke) of the unusual competition, which serves as the centerpiece of the show’s Thanksgiving episode. “I’m on the [team] with Julie Bowen, Ed O’Neil and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. They call us The Dream Squashers… and the rest of them are The Visionaries. We’re the Squashers because we don’t believe that they can chunk a pumpkin. They say they can throw it across a football field and a few of us are like, ‘Nuh-uh.'”

Question: So, are we getting a Bones midseason finale à la the In Plain Sight Season 4 finale? You know, Mary, the very last scene, a long hiatus… —Amanda
Ausiello:
If you’re asking me whether Brennan will go into labor in this season’s sixth episode (the last one before the break), the answer is no. Although exec producer Stephen Nathan says the episode serves to both “introduce the new serial killer and feature another event with Booth and Brennan,” said event is not pregnancy-related. David Boreanaz confirmed as much to me Sunday at the Emmys when he divulged that the episode will reveal where Booth and Brennan will be living. “It’s very funny,” he said. “It’s not your normal place.”

Question: I heard Angela’s dad is returning to Bones this season. Got any scoop? —Anne
Ausiello:
Billy Gibbons is back for an episode “to see his grandson,” confirms Nathan. “He comes in at a very difficult time for Hodgins and Angela: The baby doesn’t sleep, and they don’t want to keep the baby up any more than the baby already is up.”

Question: Any update on the return of Robin Sparkles on How I Met Your Mother? —Gayle
Ausiello:
No news on the Sparkles front, but exec producer Carter Bays tells TVLine that this season’s 10th episode features “a very funny song that [co-creator] Craig Thomas  wrote. The less I say about it the better.”

Question: Is Community planning any memorable event-type episodes this season? —Tammy
Ausiello:
One would argue that every episode of Community is a memorable event, no? This week’s season premiere — featuring some kind of mysterious musical sequence — certainly sounds like it has the potential to be an instant classic. “I wanted to start the season with something special,” teases series creator Dan Harmon of the musical interlude. “And it represents an important part of the story — it’s not just there for flash. The best way to perceive that scene is as a surprise, it’s that good. It’s really just a quick snippet, but it’s fun.”

Question: Any Season 3 Community scoop? —Chris
Ausiello:
Harmon is making good on his promise to show viewers more of the Greendale gang’s home life. In this season’s seventh episode, we’ll again visit Annie’s creepy apartment building. Why creepy? Because her landlord is a freak show and the first floor of her building is a porn palace.

Question: Do we know what brings Jackson’s mother to Grey’s Anatomy? —Cary
Ausiello:
We do, and it’s gonna make you giggle. Mama Avery (played by Debbie Allen) shows up at Seattle Grace to perform a — pause for dramatic effect — penis transplant. Not surprisingly, there’s a long line of residents fighting hard to get in on the surgery, but the competition is stiff.

Question: I’m so excited for the new season of The Good Wife to start! Please tell me you have something new and juicy to tide me over until Sunday! —Christine
Ausiello:
Glenn Childs will be back! Titus Welliver’s ousted State’s Attorney returns in Episode 7, at which point we’ll learn that the little weasel has a new job — at the Dept. of Justice.

Question: I’d like some scoop on The Middle, the most underrated show on TV. —Carlos
Ausiello:
Axl is converting to Judaism! In an attempt to avoid taking a Spanish exam, he tells his teacher he’s Jewish and can’t attend school because he’s observing “The Schmala.” (That reminds me of the time in middle school when I stabbed myself in the eye with a pencil in order to get home in time for Bo and Hope’s wedding. Ah, memories.)

Question: Just wanted to thank you for answering my Nikita question in last week’s Ask Ausiello. —Siobhan
Ausiello:
You’re welcome! There’s another scoop coming your way! You know how Nikita faked her death to escape Division way back when? Well, exec producer Craig Silverstein tells us that a Season 2 episode will take us back to “the actual mission she did it on, and the consequences it left behind for another agent.” Something tells me this is the other agent he speaks of.

That’s a wrap! Please send questions, comments, and anonymous tips to askausiello@tvline.com. Also, you can keep track of my scoops on Twitter via @MichaelAusiello. Thanks for playing! (Additional reporting by Meg Masters and Vlada Gelman)

  4. Nicole says:

The SVU news bores me. Who cares if Meloni isn’t back? I don’t. We better not have to see Benson moping around all season. Life goes on. Deal with it. Just give us lots of Alex Cabot!

  5. PPPG says:

Billy Gibbons/ZZ Top singer … not sleeping Baby driven hard time … gramps soothes the baby with a song. Not the biggest stretch in the world.

I was hoping for some horriicqally g ood spoilers on American Horror Story.

    • PPPG says:

grrr .., eyes hurt and am viewing this on my 58″ plasma …. sorry for typos I din’t catch

    • lauren says:

Curious what sort of spoilers you expect for a show that doesn’t even premiere for like a month? LOL Isn’t the whole show at this point one big spoiler?

      • PPPG says:

well, “spoiler” might not be the best word. More like “sccop’. Just facts we can look forward to that we don’t know already.

  6. Naomi says:

Awesome, thanks for the Nikita and Gossip Girl scoop!

  7. CJ says:

The sooner DB happen the sooner they end. I would like to know what happen with Serena? I hope she don’t want “flake” Dan back! She deserves a guy who loves her and not a boyo who persue her engaged- pregnant best friend! Bring Carter back! They were AMAZING together!

  8. stacey says:

Man…people get REALLY heated about Gossip Girl! LOL!!

  9. Nonnie says:

He definitely hasn’t graduated, he won junior prom king last season so he’s obviously a senior this year.

  10. Bam says:

Suuuper excited for the Kurtofsky bar scene, but I don’t know how I feel about Karofsky having progressed that far behind the scenes. It kind of does a disservice to the whole struggling gay youth storyline he had going on.

    • Marcus says:

I really hope his story doesn’t get glossed over because the writers got bored with it. That’s how it felt towards the end of season 2 – they got sidetracked with the Dalton nonsense and turning Blaine into a selfish douche, and forgot that they had a character played by an actor who’s actually good and needed some loose ends wrapped up. (Disclaimer: I am not a Kurtofsky shipper.)

    • alyssa says:

Every single episode of Glee is a “struggling gay youth storyline.” It’s getting ridiculously monotonous, and they need to move on from it.

      • Marcus says:

Yeah, Sue’s sister dying was all about struggling gay youth. Oh, and the repeated Finn/Rachel breakup drama, totes about queer kids. Can’t forget Mercedes and her obsession with tater tots, how queer was that? Sam being homeless was definitely about struggling gay youth, if you ask the fanfic writers. Hmm, Mr. Schuester hitting on every woman who pops by McKinley, that’s super-gay. Oh, and Quinn having that baby, and Puck wanting to date a fat girl, and Finn’s general feelings of inadequacy towards himself… Yeah, that’s all definitely gay storylines.

        • Lily says:

True Marcus, what else… Rachel wanting to have a nose job, Quinn desperately wanting the Prom Queen title… Artie insulting his girlfriend and helping out the bad guy (Puck)… And as the gay storylines are concerned… the TV series is about a show choir , not about a basketball team… So having a gay member in a show choir is more probable in a show choir than in a sports team.

  11. Hannah says:

I’m an adult, so no, I did not giggle at the mere mention of — gasp! — the word penis. I wish they’d write the boring Jackson off the show instead of bringing in his family.

  12. LC says:

Am I the only one who thinks they’ve been hinting at Blair and Dan since the first season? Their mutual hatred for one another just made me think ‘one day, they’ll get it on.’ I’m sick of all this ‘endgame’ rubbish people are spewing. Dan & Blair have chemistry and if they want to explore that, I’m fine with it.

PS: Bones better live up to my expectations. They’ve been messing with this series and B&Bs relationship long enough now.

  13. Jamie says:

Dair!! OMG this is so amazing. The best thing to ever happen on gossip girl!!

  14. Suncatcher says:

Loved the premiere. However, not very happy about Castle running on daughter, Alexis, stories. Not why I tune in Castle! Further, if it only serves to make Castle crazy / different – even worse.

Why do so many of the best shows think they have to muck with success and stray as far away from their basics & what drew the viewers to them as possible??? (Bones, NCIS last season, White Collar, Criminal Minds last season, more).

  15. Erin says:

As a Chuck/Blair fan of four years, I ask you this, Ausiello: why should I watch season 5 of Gossip Girl? Right now, I’m seeing no reason to.

    • John says:

      Then don’t.

      That was easy, right?

Me? Not a fan of such abusive and self-destructive relationships. Heck maybe they’ll write full circle and Blair will wind up with Nate?

  16. Joe says:

I for one love Dair, the pairing reminds me of Pacey and Joey on Dawson’s Creek. If the writers had any guts they’d go all in with Dair and make the storyline so compelling that fans of chair would change their opinons.

    • jenny says:

I feel the same way. I loved Joey and Pacey from the very first season and they sort of got lost in the middle but eventually they were the END game..I just want the writers to give us a good story with this one…coz I can definitely see the chemistry there. You have to be blind not to see it.

      • John says:

Is it “chemistry” or just so much less poisonous than Chuck and Blair that they seem to be clicking? Some things can be relative…..

  17. jenny says:

Yay!!! DAIR!!can’t wait to see this Kiss..Definitely gonna watch it unfold.

  18. ------ says:

I lost interest in GG somewhere back in season 2. I have watched the show off and on during the seasons. I’m actually surprised that the show has survived this long, considering that the writers have been having a hard time writing a good story line for Nate and I know I’m not the only one to believe the same thing. All Nate does is have sex. I’ll be honest I loved Chuck and Blair in season one when they were sneaking around behind Nate’s back, but then their story got old. There isn’t anything special about their relationship. Their relationship is like everyone else’s (drama, drama, drama.) Their relationship doesn’t stand out from all of the other relationships on the show. Blair and Dan’s relationship does. Their scenes together are the only time where comedy plays a part in the show. Penn Badgley (Dan) would be the first to tell everyone that he only gets to play a certain side of Dan with Leighton Meester (Blair). A lot of people don’t like change and that is where you Chair fans come in. You’re not going to like Dair if you don’t ever give them a chance. Lucky for us Dair fans many people just need more Blair and Dan screen time as a romantic couple to see if they have the chemistry heat to be the endgame couple to root for. My only worry is that the writers are just as stupid as sum of the viewers that watch the show. Come on! The true romantic love story is Blair and Dan. What is more romantic then falling in love with whom you thought was your enemy, but in fact it turns out that they’re actually the only person in the world that you can trust with holding your heart and with giving you complete honesty in life?

  19. Tobias says:

Do best friends really don´t call each other for three months. I don’t know what castle sees in beckett in the moment. She just isn´t nice to him. Castle did struggeled after the shooting but beckett isnt concerned about that. Only as she needed something from him she made contact.wow what a great friendship.

  20. harumscarum says:

    dair kiss? ew.
i’m guessing it’s a dan dream, cuz that’s the only thing that makes an ounce of sense.
    but still. ew.

oh yea and chair ftw =)

  21. Wanda says:

Karofsky and Kurt run in at gay bar? Aren’t they like 17 years old?

  22. Patricia says:

As much as I love these spoilers, when are you going to give us a scoop on Body of Proof? Pretty please?
