TVLine Items: Criminal Minds Eyes Heroes Vet, Modern Family Star Visits Horror Story, and More

Jack Coleman’s TV dance card is looking mighty full.

In addition to dropping by The CW’s Vampire Diaries this fall as a slayer (and possible dad!), the Heroes alum will appear on Criminal Minds as someone far creepier than HRG.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Coleman will guest star on the CBS drama as Bill, a man who once held a young girl captive for seven years, and in an attempt to recreate a perceived connection with the victim, proceeds to kidnap her mother (played by Army Wives‘ Brigid Brannagh) in the exact same fashion.

And in addition all of that casting goodness, Coleman is expected to return to NBC’s The Office this season as Angela’s “State Senator” significant other.

Ready for more of today’s TV dish? Well…

• Eric Stonestreet has landed a guest spot on FX’s spooky new series, American Horror Story, reports. The Modern Family funnyman will appear in a November episode as a patient of Dr. Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott) who has an irrational fear of urban legends.

• Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report will expand to a full hour for the first time in its seven-season run on Monday, Sept. 26 at 11:30/10:30c, with musical guest Radiohead.

  1. I Heart Damon Salvatore (and Chuck Bass) says:

Wow, he just loves characters named “Bill,” huh? Excellent news! No one does creepy-slash-sympathetic-slash-awesome like Jack! Glad to see him getting so much post-HRG work and that he’s not experiencing a lull like he did in the 90’s! Also hope he turns his Vampire Diaries gig into a permanent job — or as permanent as Vampire Diaries can get.

  2. dref22 says:

“Bill”! I predict a name change. :) Two recurring characters in one season? This is awesome. Still hoping to see him on a weekly basis though!

  3. lorna says:

I’m excited. LOVED HRG, his scenes with Claire were incredible, love TVD and love CM, although I watch the repeats.

    An hour of Colbert? Sweet!

  5. Greag says:

Poor Trevor Donovan, he’s on a show that casts Billy Ray, he’s too good for this show.
