Exclusive: Castle's Life Is In the Hands of Breaking Bad's Dean Norris

One Breaking Bad guy will attempt to thwart a whole band of bad guys when Dean Norris guest stars on ABC’s Castle this season, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Castle Boss Teases a Season of ‘Explosive’ Secrets, Defends Controversial Twist

As I previously reported in my Inside Line column, one of Season 4′s fall episodes will find Castle (played by Nathan Fillion) and his mother, Martha (Susan Sullivan), trapped inside a bank during a heist pulled off by a group of colorfully named robbers.

Norris will play the hostage negotiator who tries to defuse the situation, and get everyone out alive — while Beckett (Stana Katic) stands close by, wishing there were more she could do to help.

Nathan Fillion: ‘I Want Castle To Have a Drunken, Romantic Evening With Beckett, and Then…’

In addition to his compelling role as Breaking Bad‘s Hank, Norris can be seen this fall guest-starring on CSI: NY, as an Internal Affairs snoop looking into a shooting involving a member of Mac’s team.

Castle kicks off its new season this Monday at 10/9c.

  • Beckett’s gonna be hella relieved when they make it out alive. It’s season 4 now and he’s already told her he loves her so I think we’ll get more than just a, “Oh thank god you’re fine.” I’d like to think there’ll be a kiss but I’d say a peck on the cheek or something of that nature could likely occur.

  • Gosh, this is exciting! When they come out alive, if either of them just go for the handshake or a “look”, I could easily see it becoming a hug. I really hope there are moments this season where Beckett can forget herself and indulge a bit in her love for Castle.

Regardless of how they act after the rescue, I hope Martha will have an opportunity to see how much Beckett and Castle love each other. She’s sharp and intuitive, but to see how they respond to each other visually and/or verbally…it’s a powerful thing!

The show doesn’t need to rush anything–I trust the writers and respect the devices they’re using to create obstacles right now. I’m so glad they’ve been given something other than romantic relationships to keep them apart. It’s creative and dramatic. I’m more concerned about the potential setback Kristin Lehman’s character, and Castle’s actions, may incite. But I know the writers have said not to freak out and that there’s fun to be had. So I’ll have to focus on that. :]

And while I say they don’t have to rush anything, I certainly do want those in-the-meantime, juicy moments. :D
