WHAT!!! SHUT UP!!! LORETTA DEVINE WON THE EMMY!!!!

I love her as Adele on Grey’s and she’s my personal fav but I didn’t think she would pull out the win!!! I’m so happy!

  2. Will says:

    Loretta Devine! Woot!

  3. Britni says:

    Yay Glee!

    • roderic says:

Ugh. I think they won outstanding casting in the since that they had the most casting this season.

      • roderic says:

        *in the sense. Sorry.

        • J. says:

True, but it can’t be said they didn’t cast well. Almost all of their casting choices were a huge hit. A nobody they cast is filming a movie with Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening right now, going to Broadway later, and two of their new S2 guest stars are nominated for Emmys.

          • roderic says:

Who are you talking about? I’m trying to go against your argument, I’ve just never heard any of these things.

          • Stacie says:

I think “J” is talking about Darren Criss. They cast him and now he is a pretty big hit and going to be in the movie with Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening, and he’s also going on Broadway for a bit. Glee definetly casts correctly, I just wish they wouldn’t cast quite as much, and put more focus on the kids again.

  4. João Amaral says:

what are the criteria for The casting award?

  5. W.S says:

Say what you want about Glee the show itself, but the casting of that show and the talent (well, of some and some more than others) are deserving of an Emmy in that catergory. I can say that the cast is also probably one of the hardest (if not the hardest) working people in television (8 hours shooting then 7 hours in the studio, I think I’ll stick to my cubicle), now if that could only reflect onto the show.

    • Rebecca Parker says:

I cannot get behind a casting department that put Cory Monteith as the lead male singer. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but that’s just not the best decision.

  6. Bee says:

OMG LORETTA DEVINE!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! wowowow i never even expected her to be nominated back then and now she won? WOOOOHOOOOOO! she’s great :) i’m guessing that one scene with the chief and merder in 7×17 where they discuss her alzheimer’s sold it.

  7. Danny says:

    Gwyneth Paltrow sucks

  8. Bruno says:

I’m so happy for Gwyneth Paltrow. She was outstanding! GO GLEE!

  9. roderic says:

Who are you talking about? I’m trying to go against your argument, I’ve just never heard any of these things.

  10. Babygate says:

Loretta Devine deserves the win. Good for her! But the majority of these winners seem to be from cable shows. Why are they on the same category as network shows????

  11. Jacob says:

Ha ha! Portlandia won something! Love that show.

  12. Kayla says:

Oh I hope Lady Gaga wins! Good luck Gaga <3

  13. Katie says:

Er, five different choreographers were nominated for Outstanding Choreography for SYTYCD. Could you maybe narrow it down?

  14. Caine says:

Outstanding Choreography | So You Think You Can Dance (Fox)

aw c’mon – WHO was the choreographer?

SYTYCD had 5 of the 6 nominations.
    Mia Michaels or
    Stacey Tookey or
    Travis Wall or
    Tabitha & Napoleon D’umo or
    Mandy Jo Moore????

    which one?

    • Tanya says:

Mia Michaels & Nappytabs both won.

      • Caine says:

wow – a tie? how strange.

        • w23 says:

Actually it’s happened before…in fact in 2007 there were THREE winners for the choreography Emmy. In 2009 there were two winners as well.

        • Beigs says:

Some categories are called ‘area’ awards where more than one nominee can win. It’s like voting for the baseball Hall of Fame. Basically, instead of picking one winner, the judges decide if they think a nominee should get an Emmy. If x% of the voters think a show should get an Emmy, it does. If no show hits that threshold, whoever had the highest percentage of yes votes wins.

  15. w23 says:

Um, there were FIVE choreography nominees from SYTYCD. Can you be more specific, please.

  16. Kim says:

Cat Deeley tweeted that both Mia and NappyTabs won.

  17. Jdurbs says:

I really wish TVline would use a live blog service for these type of events instead of the archaic “reload your screen” process! Just a suggestion.

  18. Will says:

I wonder which song won best original music and lyrics. Weren’t 2 different songs from that episode nominated?

  19. Kayla says:

YAY GAGA WON HER FIRST EMMY!!! :D And yay 3-way (The Golden Rule) won!

    • j says:

Gaga didn’t win the emmy. the editors did

      • Kayla says:

Gaga still won it. If it wasn’t for Gaga, the HBO special would not have happened. No matter how you say it, Gaga won it.

        • j says:

No matter how you justify it gaga is not walking away with the emmy (the actual statue in her hand to go home and put on her mantle) for best editing.

        • some people are so silly says:

And if it wasn’t for King George having a stammer then “The King’s Speech” wouldn’t have been made and Colin Firth wouldn’t have won the Oscar. So by your logic, King George’s stammer won an Oscar…? The award was for picture editing, therefore it was the editors that deserve the award – don’t credit it to someone who didn’t do their work.

          • Kayla says:

Still the HBO special won which I am happy about.

          • j says:

Thank you!!! I thought for a second I was crazy and the little monsters were the sane ones!

          • João Amaral says:

thats dumb. the editing had nothing to do with gaga. was she on the editing room? she sang only.

          • some people says:

It’s fine to be happy for the show winning, but don’t credit someone for work that they weren’t even involved with. Gaga’s a good lady – I’m sure she’s proud of her editors and would never claim their work as her own.

  20. Kate says:

SYTYCD choreographers are amazing, but this year I believe the nod should have gone to Mark Ballas. His nominated dances were awesome.

    • Caine says:

      Ballas did fine –
but I also think nothing beat out Travis Wall’s “Fix You”
I love Mia Michaels but I am perplexed how NappyTabs won.

      • Sarah says:

Did you not see the FANTASTIC NappyTabs routine, “Outta Your Mind”? Alex Wong and tWitch were AMAZING! It was like theater.

  21. João Amaral says:

the lack of GoT is making me mad.

    • Olive says:

Ditto!. Game of Thrones should have won for casting, special visual effects, and cinematography. I enjoy Board Walk Empire but, just no, not in these categories should BWE beat GoF.

  22. losttotheworld says:

OMG! Loretta Devine won! So happy for her :)

  23. João Amaral says:

Special Visual effects for BE. really?

  24. donna says:

oh bummer, i was rooting for dot :(

  25. João Amaral says:

    Stunt Coordination for southland, really?

  26. jb says:

Boardwalk Empire winning Visual Effects over Game of Thrones is just sad.

  27. JoanieJ says:

Boardwalk Empire has Special Visual Effects in it?

  28. jb says:

I’m really happy though to see Community winning an Emmy, even if it’s tied with 4 winners more and in a really secondary category

  29. Will says:

Good to see Southland and Game of Thrones up there.

  30. Jay says:

    TIMBERLAKE wins GUEST ACTOR COMEDY!!!

That puts his tally at 4 Emmys!

So… the next person that tells me Timberlake can’t act will get a huge slap on the cheek.

    • Tanya says:

Justin Timberlake CAN’T act! Slap all you want…being on SNL does not a good actor make. The guy is funny…but if he didn’t do his singing bits (which were the only funny parts) he wouldn’t have won! Period.

      • Jay says:

Did you watch THE SOCIAL NETWORK?

It doesn’t take a genius to see he has talent. Maybe he’s not Cher-level acting talent but he’s very good.

        • Tanya says:

I don’t disagree the guy has talent – he has oodles and oodles of it. But I wouldn’t call him a great actor by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe eventually he will be…but at this present time – I’d say he’s a mediocre actor. But I promise you Jay – if he gets nominated for an Oscar next year (or even the year after that) I’ll eat my humble pie.

        • Rock Golf says:

Sorry, but I just had to laugh at the comment “maybe it’s not Cher-level acting talent”.

    • Kayla says:

So happy he won! He is perfect for SNL!

    • João Amaral says:

he can act. he was very good in Friend with Benefits. but he’s not Emmy award winning good, not even Nominee good.

    • Stef says:

Actually he won 2 this year. They just throw those things at him.

    • Stef says:

OK I just want to put things in perspective here.
Total Emmy count for Jon Hamm, Hugh Laurie, Michael C Hall, and Kyle Chandler COMBINED: 0
Total Emmy count for Justin Timberlake for being on SNL 3 times: 4
      WTF

  31. Rebecca Parker says:

Dot-Marie Jones, Julia Stiles and Travis Wall, so far, have been robbed.

The Emmys are shaping up to be as frustrating as usual.

    • Caine says:

I love Loretta Devine – but I might have to agree with you about Julia Stiles.
and I definitely agree with you about Travis Wall.

  32. aleksa says:

I was going to be very angry if “Game of Thrones” main title didn’t win.

  33. João Amaral says:

    is Writing and Directing today?

  34. Rebecca Parker says:

Also, it looks like “Boardwalk Empire” is doing very well – bummed out. I was hoping if one HBO show was going to do very well, it would be “Game of Thrones”

  35. João Amaral says:

from the 9 awards that GoT could have won today, the only won 1, Main Title Design.
I think they were robbed at Casting, Special Visual Effects and Stunt Coordination.

  36. Dee says:

The Original Music and Lyrics winner is the monologue, not 3-Way.

  37. Becca says:

Forget Glee! Community finally won a freaking Emmy. In all reality they should have been nominated for so many catergories, but I’m totally stoked they won. They are streets ahead, and Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas was AWESOME! oh and POP! POP!

  38. patrick says:

Congratulations to Garth Neustadter for winning the EMMY for Outstanding Music Composition for John Muir In The New World. Manitowoc is so proud!

  39. KittyCat says:

*sigh* when are they announcing that Cat Deeley won her damn Emmy? This is BORING…

  40. Caine says:

Rooting for Kathy Griffin. C’mon now.

  41. j says:

Am I the only person on the entire planet who thinks Justin Timberlake shouldn’t have won?

  42. bittersweetsonata says:

For real. Community is far too under appreciated. If they hadn’t won in this catagory, I would have been so upset.

  43. bittersweetsonata says:

For real. Community is far too under appreciated. If they hadn’t won in this category, I would have been so upset.

  44. Captain says:

Glad Jeff Probst one. He’s one of the few judges that completely immerses himself in the show.

  45. Kenny Dahlquist says:

Congratulations to my fellow Idol crew members!

  46. losttotheworld says:

Can’t believe Cat Deeley didn’t win. Robbed!

  47. Tess says:

Jeff Probst again?!?!?!?! Really Emmy voters, time to tune into like any other reality show to see how some of the others do it…How Tom Bergeron keeps losing…Cat Deely and Phil Keoghan are great too…Heck, even Seacrest would’ve been a better choice.

    • j says:

I think the entire category is unfair. A host like Probst gets to be more involved and chalk up more screen time than in other shows like a DTWS or SYTYCD. Cat or Tom deserve to finally win this!

    • Kate says:

I really can not believe Tom Bergeron lost again. He is so witty and keeps DWTS flowing. I do not dislike Cat Deely, but all she says throughout the whole show is ” . . . put your hands together for . . .” However, with that said, I can’t believe Jeff Probst won again. Both Tom and Cat are better hosts. Who does this voting???

  48. Jesse Z says:

Congratulations to the talented Loretta Devine! Yay, to Gywneth for glee…can’t wait for the Prime time Emmys!!!

  49. João Amaral says:

    can’t believe MJF lost…

  50. Kristen says:

YAY to Loretta Divine! She’s great on Grey’s!
