I love her as Adele on Grey’s and she’s my personal fav but I didn’t think she would pull out the win!!! I’m so happy!

    • Ugh. I think they won outstanding casting in the since that they had the most casting this season.

      • *in the sense. Sorry.

Comment by roderic – September 10, 2011 04:43 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
        • True, but it can’t be said they didn’t cast well. Almost all of their casting choices were a huge hit. A nobody they cast is filming a movie with Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening right now, going to Broadway later, and two of their new S2 guest stars are nominated for Emmys.

Comment by roderic – September 10, 2011 05:02 PM PDT
          • I think “J” is talking about Darren Criss. They cast him and now he is a pretty big hit and going to be in the movie with Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening, and he’s also going on Broadway for a bit. Glee definetly casts correctly, I just wish they wouldn’t cast quite as much, and put more focus on the kids again.

  • what are the criteria for The casting award?

Comment by João Amaral – September 10, 2011 04:46 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Say what you want about Glee the show itself, but the casting of that show and the talent (well, of some and some more than others) are deserving of an Emmy in that catergory. I can say that the cast is also probably one of the hardest (if not the hardest) working people in television (8 hours shooting then 7 hours in the studio, I think I’ll stick to my cubicle), now if that could only reflect onto the show.

    • I cannot get behind a casting department that put Cory Monteith as the lead male singer. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but that’s just not the best decision.

Comment by Rebecca Parker – September 10, 2011 06:41 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
      • It would only be for casting the last season, not from the beginning of the show, so Monteith wouldn’t be in that group.

      • Thanks. I should have made my point clearer. Since standards (such as restrictions, ratings, demographics, etc.)for cable television are different then standards for network television, they really should not be treated as being compatible for the purpose of these awards. It’s just my opinion. Thanks for responding though…

Comment by w23 – September 10, 2011 05:35 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
        • Some categories are called ‘area’ awards where more than one nominee can win. It’s like voting for the baseball Hall of Fame. Basically, instead of picking one winner, the judges decide if they think a nominee should get an Emmy. If x% of the voters think a show should get an Emmy, it does. If no show hits that threshold, whoever had the highest percentage of yes votes wins.

Comment by j – September 10, 2011 05:59 PM PDT  Reply To This Post

Comment by Kayla – September 10, 2011 06:10 PM PDT
        • And if it wasn’t for King George having a stammer then “The King’s Speech” wouldn’t have been made and Colin Firth wouldn’t have won the Oscar. So by your logic, King George’s stammer won an Oscar…? The award was for picture editing, therefore it was the editors that deserve the award – don’t credit it to someone who didn’t do their work.

          • It’s fine to be happy for the show winning, but don’t credit someone for work that they weren’t even involved with. Gaga’s a good lady – I’m sure she’s proud of her editors and would never claim their work as her own.

It doesn’t take a genius to see he has talent. Maybe he’s not Cher-level acting talent but he’s very good.

Maybe eventually he will be…but at this present time – I’d say he’s a mediocre actor. But I promise you Jay – if he gets nominated for an Oscar next year (or even the year after that) I’ll eat my humble pie.

      • I know – she just tweeted she
“lost to Deadliest Catch (another name for her vagina)”
Love her. I thought she might lose to Hoarders but not DC.

  • Am I the only person on the entire planet who thinks Justin Timberlake shouldn’t have won?

    • Nope. I’m there with you too j! I was personally rooting for Matt Damon.

    • I just can’t stand Justin Timberlake. I don’t think he’s funny. He seems fake and arrogant. He can’t act at all! Besides, he’s ugly.

  • For real. Community is far too under appreciated. If they hadn’t won in this catagory, I would have been so upset.

  • Glad Jeff Probst one. He’s one of the few judges that completely immerses himself in the show.

  • Jeff Probst again?!?!?!?! Really Emmy voters, time to tune into like any other reality show to see how some of the others do it…How Tom Bergeron keeps losing…Cat Deely and Phil Keoghan are great too…Heck, even Seacrest would’ve been a better choice.

Comment by Tess – September 10, 2011 07:33 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • I think the entire category is unfair. A host like Probst gets to be more involved and chalk up more screen time than in other shows like a DTWS or SYTYCD. Cat or Tom deserve to finally win this!

    • I really can not believe Tom Bergeron lost again. He is so witty and keeps DWTS flowing. I do not dislike Cat Deely, but all she says throughout the whole show is ” . . . put your hands together for . . .” However, with that said, I can’t believe Jeff Probst won again. Both Tom and Cat are better hosts. Who does this voting???
