  • @Amanda : I completely agree with you. I´m also TVD and True Blood fan, well I have to say that I prefer TVD, because of Damon ( Ian Somerhalder ) *.*, but I also really like True Blood. So you aren´t right, if you say that True Blood audiences can´t like TVD or the other way round.

  • If that were the case then The Vampire Diaries would have tha same 5.8 million viewers True Blood has but it barely has more than 2.8 …and that’s on network television.

  • I think these are great! What a cool idea. I’m interested about each fruit meaning with the character….. I love Vampire Diaries & True Blood, two very different shows, if you don’t like one or the other fine, but some of us do! No need for haters on here!

  • Everyone is complaining. If there would not have been any photos everyone would have been upset that they are not there. People, they are pictures that the person who paid for them liked. If the CW did not like them or get the meaning behind them, they would not have been released. I like them. I think that it is very creative that they used the meanings of the fruit to match the characters that fit them the most. I think that everyone should at least be happy that there are some promo shots with more than just the three main/important characters of the show. They should do something like this more often. Not the same concept, just use more of the cast members.

  • Proud almost 33 year TVD fan here no I don’t watch TB, and I’m in no way obsessed with Twilight at all…..However as far as TVD goes, I do not like the new photos at all…….

  • the vampire diaries was a book series from 1992. twilight and true blood probably copied it. all vampire works are copied from dracula, A BOOK. books beat tv shows anytime, so the argurments are not needed. vampire diaries can copy the copiers if they want, as they were copied from first. i end my case.

  • The photo’s aren’t the best photos but i like where they are going with it. It is said this is going to be the best VD season yet and by the looks of the promo they just put out with the bloody cake and now with these pictures just makes you get more excited for this season to being. Kevin and Julie are GREAT with making people excited for what’s to come and guess what will happen. Even the cast doesn’t know whats going to happen till they are shooting the ep. So many people died last year i feel like this year will be even more.

  • I have watched True Blood and Vampire Diaries since they both first premiered and I love them both equally. Some things I like better in one show and others I like better in the other. I don’t see why we have to pick one? They’re both fantastic shows.

  • I like True Blood, Twilight, and The Vampire Diaries. Each series is unique from the rest, as many others have pointed out. However, I think that The Vampire Diaries contains much more character development, continuity, artistic style, and entertainment.

Sure, Twilight is “Edward or Jacob?” and Vampire Diaries is “Stefan or Damon?” However, people also debate “Bill or Eric?” What matters is that people are engaged with the STORY. Love triangles are in every series.

I think that it requires a LOT more talent & creativity to NOT have to drop the F-bomb every 5 minutes and pepper the entire show with gore and porn to be interesting and cool. I could see a bad horror movie for all of that. If you’re in the mood for teen angst? Watch Twilight. If you want a script full of cursing and gorno (gore + porn)? Watch True Blood. And if you want a stylish, creative medium of the two? The Vampire Diaries rules.

The fruit that each character is holding is symbolic of course, as others have written.

Damon – Apple – Symbolizes carnal pleasures, temptation, and “forbidden fruit”.
Elena – Pomegranate – In almost every culture, the pomegranate has been used as a symbol of humanity’s most fundamental desires. Life, fertility, marriage, prosperity, etc.
Stefan – Peach – A rotting or half-eaten peach symbolizes a tarnished reputation and immoral/unfaithful behavior.
Klaus – Pear – The ancient Chinese believed that the pear was a symbol of immortality (Pear trees live for a very long time).

Can’t wait for Season 3 of Vampire Diaries! ;)

  • Of course it’s Photoshopped. It’s supposed to look like Victorian portrait paintings. I think it’s awesome.
