Greek creator Patrick Sean Smith is taking his special brand of young adult angst global.

Smith is developing an hour-long drama/adventure series for Fox set in the world of young international travelers.

The working title: Wanderlust.

Prior to creating ABC Family’s long-running Greek, Smith served as a writer on the late, great Everwood.

  • It’s been quite a while since teens/early 20 year olds headlined a successful series outside of The CW. Glee doesn’t count, since Matthew Morrison is technically the lead.

    • You’re right, Glee doesn’t count. But that’s because it’s a musical. I mean, Peter Gallagher is top billed in The OC and that’s a teen show – right?

      • My dad was a big OC fan, we both were. Same with my friends. Man that show was classic.

    • Really? Haven’t you heard of ABC Family? Most if not all of those series are headlined by teens/early 20-year-olds.

For better or for worse, ABC Family has been quietly moving in on the CW’s demographic for a while now.

  • I’ll be watching the first few episodes of this based on pedigree alone. Whether it’s good remains to be seen.
