Leven Rambin's All My Children Return Nixed Due to Hunger Games Playing

All My Children has in recent weeks welcomed back Josh Duhamel (as Leo), Thorsten Kaye (Zach), Esta TerBlanche (Gillian) and Cady McClain (Dixie) — and more alumni encores are on the way. But sadly, Leven Rambin’s participation in the first Hunger Games film has precluded Lily Montgomery’s anticipated homecoming.

“Unfortunately, there was a scheduling conflict with The Hunger Games, which is filming in North Carolina,” the actress told Soap Opera Digest of her scrapped return to Pine Valley. “Sad, sad, sad! But I’m pleased that I was able to take part in the 40th anniversary show last year.”

Rambin — who last TV season appeared on One Tree Hill, Grey’s Anatomy, and CSI: Miami — has for the past several months been hard at work playing Glimmer, a badass tribute (aka a teen battling for his or her life in a televised life-or-death tournament), in the hotly anticipated film adaptation of the Hunger Games novels. (In fact, landing the plum gig forced her to vacate a recurring role in the upcoming season of HBO’s Hung.) Rambin wrapped her work as Glimmer late last week, and AMC is taping its broadcast finale today, Aug. 30.

All My Children‘s ABC swan song is set to air Friday, Sept. 23.

That’s too bad. She played a great part on AMC.She was lovely as the fragile Lily. I was looking forward to seeing her if nothing else to get the bad taste out of my mouth from the character she played on Grey’s Anatomy who I hope to never see again on my screen.

Megan any scoop on what was the last day of filming like for AMC? I think it was today.

  2. Sam says:

    She was excellent on Terminator.

  3. Miffy says:

She annoys me. And in whose world is this ridiculous “Hunger Games” “hotly anticipated”? Geeks and losers, I suppose.

    • CJ says:

Seriously?? The Hunger Games trilogy are some of the best dystopian fiction to come out in recent years. Hopefully the movie will do the books justice. Oh, and I wear my geek badge proudly, as basically it just means that I was able to make it through engineering school…but being smart doesn’t make one a loser, it makes one employed.

  4. JamandaFan says:

I’m so sad that today is their last filming day! I’m going to miss my trip to Pine Valley- 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year.

  5. Shadow says:

I don’t even know what Hunger Games is but no need to call its fans names. That’s no better than what people say about soap fans. Why can’t people just like what they like? Whatever they were paying her they should use to extend appearances of Brooke &/or Adam.
