Scoop: Heather Graham to Headline Fox Comedy Pilot Little in Common

Heather Graham has been tapped to star opposite Rob Corddry in Fox’s comedy pilot Little In Common.

The single-camera project, from Veronica Mars and Party Down vet Rob Thomas, centers on the Wellers (Corddry, Graham), who move from California to Texas, but find that their adjustment won’t be quite that easy considering their Latina single mother neighbor (played by Alana Ubach) has a radically different approach to child-rearing than they do. Meanwhile, their other new neighborhood acquaintances, the African American Burlesons (Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union), take sports way too seriously.

Graham’s role was played by Paula Marshall in the original pilot. This is a rare series gig for the primarily film actress. She previously toplined the short-lived ABC comedy Emily’s Reasons Why Not and recurred on Scrubs.

Much better choice than Paula Marshall. That one’s incredibly annoying.

Fingers crossed for Little in Common. Would love to see a Hope+New Girl+Breaking in+Common comedy block – I’d watch that.

  2. Sam says:

“Fox comedy pilot” is English for “Cancellation imminent.”

  3. wanye says:

rob thomas + fox = cancelled within 8 episodes :(

  4. Rocky says:

So then, are they filming in Texas? I know that Rob is from there, so it’d make sense, even though we wish he’d chosen San Diego aka Neptune.

  5. XK says:

I’ll give it a watch… I like Rob Corddry, like Rob Thomas, and like Heather Graham, so it’s an easy call.

I doubt it will be as funny as Children’s Hospital (Corddry) or as good as Veronica Mars (Thomas), but hopefully, it will still be entertaining.

    What happens to Paula now?
