Video: Letterman Won't Be Silenced By Jihad Threat to Cut Off His Tongue
Delivering his first Late Show since being targeted online with the aforementioned threat, Letterman used his monologue to find levity in the FBI-investigated situation, including asking if his CBS insurance policy covers jihad and (of course) suspecting that longtime late-night rival Jay Leno was behind it.
The threat, said the person who posted it on a website used by Muslim militants, was in response to a joke Letterman made in the wake of Navy SEALs finding and killing Osama Bin Laden. “A guy gets assassinated, you can’t tell a couple of jokes?” Letterman asked Monday night.
Dave’s full monologue is here, followed by a clip of the night’s Top Ten List, which recounted the things that went through the talk-show host’s mind when he learned of the jihad against him — including, “How can someone be so angry at a time when Kim Kardashian is so happy?”
