  1. Luis says:

That means Andy is the new boss. Dad comes to congratulate him. What else?

    • Waage says:

One thousand billion other scenarios… what else?

    • Isaac says:

ope i’l get a copy of the season release

    • JB Smooove says:

Well Luis, IF that’s your real name, how about these possible scenarios:

Mum and Faaather are getting divorced.
Andy is finally being cut off from the family.
Dad comes to congratulate son for getting engaged to Erin (Who, BTW, I want to make a gazillion babies with).
Father wants Andy to come home and run the family “import-export” business.

Those are a few alternatives to the horrible idea Andy gets promoted.

  2. Luis says:

After all, the guy that portrays Andy is the most likable on the show, and it is the only one making movies currrently. He was the obvious choice.

    • tara says:

Luis- Andy is NOT the only one making movies currently. Jim is in a few movies recently out and Pam is a movie that just came out.

    • ot1eboy says:

Darryl is the most likable and he is making movies. They can’t bypass Jim or Dwight but Darryl has never been in their loop.

  3. Amber says:

After seeing Stephen Collins play Bruce Mathis so well and so hilariously on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, I can totally see this being a great setup on The Office. This is a good casting choice.

  4. Bee says:

Didn’t they already show Andy’s parents on the episode he proposed to Angela??

  5. julie says:

Way too many other scenarios possible: 1- Andy’s the dad of the 2nd woman who is apparently pregnant (after Pam) and his dad comes to visit to see who the mother of Andy’s child will be.
2- Andy DIDN’T get the job and his dad pays him a visit to find what a “loser” his ivy-league son has become
3- Andy – gullible as he is – invites his dad for a visit: either to show some ivy-league-ness to the new boss, or just invites him in another Andy-fashioned way.
    4- …

You get my point, right? It’s The Office we’re talking about: anything can happen.

  6. Katie Young says:

    OH WOW.

  7. Keith says:

In “Goodbye Toby” when Andy proposes to Angela, they show a quick shot of Andy’s parents, who were Ed Helms’ actual parents in a cameo. So, it makes sense to recast since I assume Ed Helms’ father is not an actor.

  8. Jennifer says:

Actually, the new boss for the time being is James Spader.

  9. monstro says:

…Luis ur a tard…theres no way ed helms would be boss…just cus hes doing movies doesnt mean anything..

    • Live from the 305 says:

Probably shouldn’t go around throwing the term “tard” around when you can’t write a 20 word message without complete disregard for punctuation or being able to type like an adult. I doubt Andy’s taking over either but good lord, try and have a conversation like a human being.

  10. Taylor says:

Actually Jennifer, james Spader is the new CEO of Dunder Miflin, not the office manager,

  11. Landry says:

James Spader will actually be the new CEO replacing Jo Bennett. The new boss will most likely be Jim, Andy, Darrell, or Dwight because they are not casting anyone new, other than Spader, to be the new branch manager.

    • Sarah says:

Although I love Jim to death, he can’t be manager- they tried that one already and he didn’t fit the job- in a not funny way. I don’t think Darrell would work well there either, he’s not goofy enough. And we know that the show would just crumble if Dwight finally achieved Manager and there was no struggle for him to gain power any more. Andy is the only choice.

  12. Joe says:

Actually, James Spader is first named the new office manager and then later promoted to CEO from what I’ve read.

  13. chris says:

James spader gets hired as the manager and within days becomes the ceo we will never see him as manager because he gets promoted over the summer the new manager will come from in house and with how the interviews went last season it will most likly be darrell or jim….definitly not andy or dwight

  14. MK204 says:

I love Stephen Collins. Worked with him on 7th Heaven. He’s great. Stephen if you read this…I’m waving to you Shecky. From Minty. Good to see you back on TV.

  15. Vic says:

No one is a tard, although Andy is the self appointed Nard Dog…

  16. Natalie says:

Didn’t Andy’s parents show up when he proposed to Angela at Toby’s going away party? It sure seemed like that was them based on their reactions in the background….

  17. murley says:

am i the only person who hopes andy becomes the new boss? that scenario, in my opinion, provides the most opportunity for humor and interesting, shifting relationship dynamics.
