Matt's Inside Line: Scoop on House, Glee, Bones, Sons of Anarchy, The Middle and More!

Has House been misbehaving behind bars? What is the romantic priority for Glee‘s Brittany this year? Now that Bones has a bun in the oven, who will be Booth’s new partner? Read on for those answers, plus other teases from some of TV’s hottest shows.

Exclusive: Lisa Edelstein Opens Up About Her House Exit, Good Wife Gig

House | Viewers will learn that you can’t keep a good doc down, even when he’s behind bars, when the Fox drama kicks off its eighth season on Oct. 3. “House is definitely his nosy self, getting into business that he probably shouldn’t be getting into,” teases new cast member Odette Annable, who will be playing prison infirmary staffer Dr. Jessica Adams. With House cracking cases while incarcerated, he and Adams “have a connection, and end up helping each other,” adds the actress. In fact, by the end of the season opener, “She discovers that she’s more like House than she realizes!”

Glee Exclusive: American Dreams Girl Enrolls at McKinley High

Glee | Brittany S. Pierce, what did you do over summer vacation? Heather Morris stops to think a moment before serving up a very Britty answer: “She went into the Matrix.” And that seems about right. Having only spied the premiere script, Morris doesn’t have much intel to share about Season 3, other than “Brittany wants Artie back” — which she sees as a good thing, since “everybody really wants them together.” Well, everybody “except Santana,” she points out. “But Brittany is real, so she’ll do what she wants to do.” Does that mean “Brittana” is finito for, like, forever? “Probably,” Morris reckons. “The writers may play with it a little bit more – but maybe not.” Regardless, the bi-curious/lesbian storyline did some good while it lasted. “Before the tour, I met some girls who told me how appreciative they were, because they were going through that themselves,” Morris shares. “It was nice to hear that we did something for them.”

Fox Boss Shares His Expectations for Fringe, Thoughts on Future of Bones and House

Bones | With Brennan quite pregnant at the time the new season arrives, watch for Booth to acquire a somewhat unlikely partner in crime solving. “Since Sweets is the only other FBI member of the team, that’s kind of what they’re setting up,” says John Francis Daley. “And Sweets is delighted about that, because he gets to play tough guy.” More practically (since Booth is frankly tough enough for the two of ‘em), Daley says that where Brennan focuses more on the anthropological side of interrogations, “Sweets deals with the psychological. He’s good at telling when people are lying.” Turning to truths, here’s a big one: “David [Boreanaz] is so great to work with, and we have so much fun working together,” effuses Daley. “We’ve had the great pleasure of being able to do it a lot this season so far.” I smell a spin-off: “Sweets & Sour”!

FX Sets Fall Premiere Dates for Super-Sized Sons of Anarchy, Horror Story and More

Sons of Anarchy | I’ve been a touch remiss in my SOA scoopage as far as having not yet touched on the Jax-Tara dynamic. So I made a point to ask series boss Kurt Sutter where things stand for the couple at the start of Season 4. Having done “a lot of soul-searching in prison, Jax comes out with a better sense of family than he’s ever had,” Sutter shared. “So I would say they start out this season stronger than ever.” (A bonus for those who play with the Sons mobile app: The second “bonus” scene being offered is about the birth of Jax’s son, Thomas, “and we see in that scene that the bond between [him and Tara] has really deepened.” (To that end, Maggie Siff teased for me, “There’s a nice welcome home scene,” heh.) So for   how many episodes can Jax-Tara fans expect this bliss to last? Sutter mulls that for an instant before offering with a sly grin: “One?”

Fall TV: ABC Sets Premiere Dates, Including Supersized Grey’s Anatomy and Modern Family

The Middle | As TVLine first reported, the third-year comedy’s season opener will run one hour and feature a Griswoldian “family vacation.” Now, here’s Neil Flynn to elaborate: “From what I understand, the Hecks go camping – and I’m going to assume that it does not go smoothly.” Akin to how, say, Jim Backus ruined The Brady Bunch‘s similar getaway, locking them up in a ghost town and such? “Ray Romano shows up, and I guess he’s running, like, a haunted amusement park, and we foil his evil plan,” says Flynn. “No, I’m thinking of a Scooby-Doo episode! Never mind.” Instead, TV’s erstwhile Raymond will appear in flashbacks, as the jaunt prompts Mike and Frankie to recall their not-so-idyllic honeymoon. There, “I think that Ray and I bond, and Patty [Heaton] is the third wheel,” Flynn shares.

Seen & Heard | Danson shmanson. CSI boss Carol Mendelsohn told me that onetime guest star Carrot Top will make a return appearance in the season premiere… Nancy Travis, having since landed the female lead on Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing, says that ABC was kind enough to let her go back to The CW’s Hart of Dixie to shoot an episode that wraps up her role as a rather important person Rachel Bilson’s transplanted NYC doc meets upon arriving in Alabama…. Remember how Timothy Hutton told me that TNT’s Leverage will shed light on the team members’ murky pasts? I have since been advised to keep an eye out for a scene between Parker and Sophie in “The Grave Danger Job,” the first of two episodes airing this Sunday.

Garbage! This whole thing is rigged!

  2. michele says:

SOA is best program on the boob tube. Serious Orgasm Already!

  3. Nicole says:

Reading all these comments hurt. Isn’t Glee about tolerance and acceptance? Then why is everybody bashing each other?
    Bartie shippers:
Congrats. They’re cute and adorable together. But we can’t take this SPOILER too seriously. They really aren’t supposed to give away big spoilers, and I would say that’s a pretty big one.
    Brittana shippers:
Don’t lose hope over this. We don’t know what Heather’s tone was while taking this interview, so she might’ve been smiling, laughing, and joking the whole time (she has a reputation of doing this). She even said herself that she didn’t exactly know what was gonna happen.

NONE of the cast know what lays in store for there characters (with the exception of Mercedes and her new boyfriend).

  4. Jeremiah says:

    Leverage Rules!

  5. Rachel Berry says:

If there’s two things the Glee fandom needs right now, that is sunshine and optimism… Also, Brittana! :-)

  6. Cheyenne says:

    BRITTANA SHIPPERS:
Don’t jump ship. This is merely gossip. Heather likes to joke. And if you want to jump ship, life jackets are available. But I will go down with this ship. We can’t forget her interview with AfterEllen!

  7. Jen says:

Wow the behavior of the brittana is amazing, any bad news must be fake? Cmon, look I know some want lesbian couples on this show but Quinn is straight, Rachel is straight, and Brittany really does like Artie and has some good chemistry with him, I feel, even if not everyone sees that.

  8. Savannah says:

I’m more into Bartie, tbh. Thanks for the Bones scoop too. :)

  9. Emily says:

So remember when Brittany said she loved Santana more than she has ever loved anybody else (including Artie)? Yeah me neither.
    So disappointed by this news.

    • Candy says:

Glee backtracks all the time. And I dont think Brittney meant it in a romantic way, her and Santana seemed to end Season 2 as friends. Hm, remember when Finn broke up with Quinn because he said he didn’t feel the way he did about her the same as he felt about Rachel, then remember when Quinn shed ONE crocodile tear and Finn said he still loved Quinn? You dont see Fuinn fans screaming about that (forget the fact that there are no Fuinn fans). That moment was classic Glee confusion and backtracking. Santana and Brittney are just friends. Brittney never chose Santana or Artie, and most importantly Brittana nor Bartie dosent exist as of right now. Heather is just talking about what she wants to happen, I seriously think she dosent like playing a lezzy.

  10. Mike says:

Brittany and Artie are horrible together ! (He called her stupid, she cheated on him and the comb thing was just creepy!!)

I thought Santana and Brittany were sweet together, such a shame they aren’t continuing with it. (Anyone else think its not happening because Heather isn’t comfortable kissing another woman?)

Seemed like her and Artie weren’t suited the first time around .. why bring it back? If she can’t be with Santana why not Mike or a new love interest?

    • M says:

He called her stupid once but Santana also insulted her and the comb thing was sweet.

    • Rain says:

Okay I have to say I disagree. Artie called her stupid because she wasn’t seeing that Santana was using her which is WORSE! Brittana isn’t really a healthy relationship in my eyes. And Artie did the comb thing for her and the Santa thing because he cared for her which was sweet!

  11. Brad Falchuk says:

One of the many things I love about hemo is her dark sense of humor.

  12. Cami says:

Ok… and there it goes Brittana, just like Quick. At this point I’m all about “Going down with this ship” but seriously now I prefer that Santana find true love with somebody else… Writers stop messing with the fandom because it’s NOT COOL.. Brad made a mistake if he thought that Bartie getting back together meant Brittana is always ON.

  13. Madilyn says:

I love the idea of House solving medical mysteries behind bars-back to solving cases. It’s one of the reasons I watch House.

  14. Paloma says:

    Brittana<3 :)
    bartie =/

  15. guest says:

Is it just me, or is it sad to see a post about how people would rather see two girls together then a boy and girl together??

  16. Jen says:

Don’t worry Brittana fans there always fanfiction

  17. guest says:

Look, gays and lesbians should not be upset by a straight couple and us straight people should not be upset by gay/lesbian relationships. This is the world we live in…you dont have to agree with it, but you should just accept it and move on before the world gets 10000 times worse then what it alreay it….People are dying of cancer and famine everyday…We have children who are starving and do not have anyone to take care of them….WHO CARES about your sexual orientation, we all need to stop worrying about who we choose to be with and more about other people!!! When did humanity become so obsessed with money, sex, power…and not enough about each other…

btw…LOVE the Bones Scoop!!! Bring on November!!!

    • H says:

this is not about sexual orientation. trust me, the glee fandom doesn’t care about that, and brittany is bisexual so she could be with both santana and artie.

the brittany/santana vs. brittany/artie ship wars have nothing to do with their sexal orientation. it’s just like the kurt/sam vs. kurt/blaine and finn/rachel vs. finn/quinn ship wars. it’s about who the fans want to see the characters with.

  18. Dale says:

Brad Falchuk’s recent tweet indicates that Heather was joking when she made the remarks about Bartie being resurrected from the ashes. Thank you grilled cheesus. That was a nice troll on Heather’s part, now bring on season 3 and Brittana.

  19. Izzy says:

    Bartie vs. Brittana

    September 20th, 2011: It All Ends Here…

  20. SNAFU says:

Could you Gleeks maybe take this to a forum or something? You guys are just fighting now. It doesn’t really matter what Heather Morris wants; the writers decide who gets together and who doesn’t. Besides, Ms. Morris could be pulling your leg. Anyway, I’d say that TVLine is for discussions–not insults, arguments, or whatever the second page of comments has to offer. Take your angry CAPS LOCK and excessive punctuation somewhere else!

  21. Cara says:

Wow, the interest stirred up by the latest “House” spoiler supplied by Annable is non-existent.

These hints about next season are truly soporific. Blandly beautiful prison doc discovers that she has traits in common with our rascally, twinkly, maverick hero. Like Foreman, Cameron, Thirteen, and countless patients in hundreds of episodes before.

Hilson renews their supposedly “charming” bromance, because nothing says friendship better than that broken arm you suffered while being run over by your best friend as he destroyed the home of your other friend.

    Crickets.

    • wilson says:

You evidently disliked “Moving On” so you did not pay attention. House never run Wilson over. He was standing on the footpath a few metres away from the car’s path. Wilson tripped and fell as he instinctively took a step back.

  22. Mdz says:

hanks for the glee scoop..I love Brittanny and Artie as a couple and really to hope they get back together!!

  23. Rain says:

Honestly, people Bartie will get the show MORE viewers. That’s how shows like Glee work, they take unexpected turns like breaking up Brittana and having them kept as friends. It’s a fact that break ups keep people wanting while keeping people together just starts to bore people.

Do you all think you’d actually want to watch a whole season made up of Santana and Brittany all happy as if nothing was going on or see Santana move on from Brit onto someone out of the club and only keep them has friends? This sounds to me like it’s for the best and it sounds like a ‘break up’ between Brittana will play better towards Santana’s plot and make the show better.

And if you all hate Ryan Murphy so much then don’t watch the show, not everything needs to perfect, if it was, it’d be boring.

    • H says:

first of all, brittana are not together right now, so how would they break them up? there was a lot of relationship drama between them last season, and between all the couples, so this year the fans don’t want more of that, and even if they did, there can be drama between brittana without breaking them up for good.

and bartie will definitely not bring more viewers, if anything people will stop watching if the bring back bartie and make it endgame. the people that dislike bartie and ship brittana are WAY more than the people that like bartie.

and regardless of what the fans want, brittana is so much more important than yet another heterosexual couple. you don’t know HOW MANY people the brittana storyline has helped. the lesbian and bisexual representation in the media is a joke. glee started brittana as a joke, like lesbians and bisexual girls don’t deserve serious representation, but the fan reaction inspired RIB (Ryan, Ian and Brad) to develop it and i’m glad they did. it meant so much to the people that were struggling with their sexual identities and people who have never felt like they were represented properly.

and last, i do hate RIB. i hate what they have done to the show. they sold out. they chose money over good storylines and development, but i continue to watch because i love kurt hummel too much to stop watching (even tho they’re slowly reducing him to nothing more than the ‘k’ in ‘klaine’).

  24. abc says:

Damn, have you done enough grave-stomping yet, Bartie fans? Isn’t it bad enough the queer girls who related to the story line and needed to see it on TV for personal reasons were lied to and strung along and are now getting the knife twisted? You didn’t have enough straight ships to watch?

Oh, and surprise, some people disagree with a REAL lesbian relationship that isn’t a ratings ploy or for show? God this fandom is so ignorant. You have no idea what the story line meant to some girls.

Brittana isnt happening. You dont need to kick a man while he’s down.

You know who wins in all this? Santana will. Because she’s gonna get a story line while Brit and Artie act like morons and get two lines an episode like they did during their relationship the first time.

Kevin is a limited actor, Heather is basic and was getting better with Naya. Now she’ll be shoved in the background again and Naya’s gonna get a great story line.

So, you know what? Have your ship. I’m going to feel so vindicated when Bartie remain the B-level ship they are and Santana gets spotlight and accolades.

    I’ll take it.

    • katz says:

you dont need to bring other actors down just because your ship isnt happening. be moral.

      • abc says:

Not dissing. Just stating facts. Pairing off Hemo/Kevin again is bringing them down.

It’s just funny that people are taking this as Santana losing, when she’s gonna have the last laugh.

  25. Sarah says:

Ok, Brittana is endgame and they belong together. That’s all.

  26. anonymous says:

I’m not even a Brittany and Santana fan but the writers going back to Brittany and Artie confuses me. They could be kind of cute but they were nothing special and their relationship ran its course.

  27. Anonymous says:

you know why Heather prefers Bartie over Brittana,in my POV coz Bartie relationship doesn’t need a lot of drama compare to Brittana. Heather’s personality is more on a happy and light personality.. Bartie relationship will save her from nerve wrecking actings w/c Naya can pull it more.. so I think if they will find another love interest for Santana the actress that will portray should be equally as good as Naya in actng..

  28. BonesnHouse4ever says:

Gleeks, don’t you have multiple blogs other places? Forget all that meaningless crap and focus on the real stuff House and Bones! House wise, I’m worried that the team will have some troubles with House and this new girl. I mean, what’s gonna happen to them while House gets cozy with this new doc behind bars? And shouldn’t 13 be getting worse by now? She had 10 years to live 5 years ago. Concerning Bones, I’m glad that we’ll get to see a more maternal and caring side of Brennan. Also, I think that since she and Angela have the whole Mommy connection, we’ll be seeing more of the friendship in and out of the lab. I think that as long as Sweets stays passive and analytical in a funky shrinky way, we’ll be able to pass over that partnership speed bump in no time.

    • Cassi says:

I LOVE BONES!!! The whole booth working with Sweets thing is brand new i have read everything else for spiolers and this is the best yet.
