Jane Lynch on Hosting Emmys As Her Glee Alter Ego: 'A Little Bit of Sue Goes a Long Way'

Jane Lynch — and not her Glee alter ego Sue Sylvester — will be hosting the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards next month.

“I think a little bit of Sue goes a long way,” Lynch told reporters Friday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills.” There are some Sue ideas floating around out there, but I think we’ll leave her track suit on the Paramount lot.”

Lynch divulged few details about her stint, except to say that she hopes it’ll include at least one song-and-dance number. She’s also determined not to make viewers “cringe, or at least [make] very few people will cringe.”

And while Lynch confessed that she “really enjoyed” Ricky Gervais’ controversial Golden Globes hosting stint last January, she has no plans to launch any full-scale attacks against her Hollywood peers. “[I] don’t have that snarkiness that Ricky has, although I am a huge fan [of his]. I laughed many times at the Golden Globes.”

The Emmys will air on Sunday, Sept. 18 on Fox.

Jane it such a fabulous actress/comedian/woman – she’ll do a wonderful job hosting.

Sue has no place at this party though I will admit – I do miss the restrained but insane Sue of !

Hosting the Emmys as Sue Sylvester would be a terrible idea seeing as how the character has become more and more ridiculous during the last season of Glee. Jane Lynch, on the other hand, is an amazing talent and perhaps the biggest star on that show’s roster. Having Jane host as her own person and with her own style and flavor of comedy will be great.
