Fall TV Preview

Exclusive: 90210 Snags Buffy Alum Sarah Hagan

Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s Sarah Hagan (she played Potential Slayer Amanda during the show’s final season) has booked a recurring role on 90210, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.

Hagan will play Alana, one of Naomi’s new sorority sisters at California University. The character is described as a born leader who proudly flaunts her extensive vocabulary and book smarts.

The actress — fondly remembered by Freaks and Geeks fans as Linda Cardellini’s straight arrow BFF Millie  — joins a 90210 guest cast that also includes Justin Deeley as a love interest for Naomi and CSI: Miami‘s Megalyn Echikunwoke as Naomi’s CU nemesis.

90210 kicks off its fourth season on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

  • I like her! I’ve enjoyed seeing her pop up in guest spots too, like her episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

  • Ack! I grew up doing theatre with her in Houston. Always glad to see her get high profile work but also a little jealous.

  • Don’t be jealous. Good Karma can always happen to people who know each other. And on another note, she was one of my fave potential slayers, so yay!

  • She will always be Millie to me. Her part of Buffy was meh and in a season with a bunch of other potentials that made me mad. But she was great on F&G!

  • Hee hee. “Slater?” How does she slate them? Come on! You’ve had no typos in the many years I’ve been reading your column (here, the place before, and at the other place), it’s fun to see a snafu slip through. :)

    • There will be no baby… she just said that so max won’t break up with her.

  • Amusing that she’s referred to as a “Buffy alum”, but then Ausiello felt the need to remind us which Buffy character she played.

  • Love Sarah Hagan. Don’t so much love 90210 though. But props to her for snagging a plum role on primetime nonetheless.
