NBC's The Firm Casts Deadwood Alum as Abby

NBC’s The Firm has firmed up its last bit of casting, with the addition of Deadwood alumna Molly Parker as Mitch McDeere’s wife, Abby.

Based on John Grisham’s best-selling novel but picking up 10 years later, the midseason series finds Mitch (played by Josh Lucas, The Lincoln Lawyer) and Abby trying to start a new life in Washington, D.C. Tom Cruise and Jeanne Tripplehorn played the marrieds in the 1993 movie.

  • I will definitely be checking this out. I thought the movie was a lot of fun and so far the cast looks pretty good. I love Callum Keith Rennie more and more after each show I see him in. Oooh… and he is playing the role originated by David Strathairn, who he just starred with in Alphas. Is the world about to implode in on itself?? Will it premiere on October 21?

    • Loved Callum Keith Rennie in Battlestar Galactica and will be checking this out as I am a fan of his work. Also Josh Lucas was amazing in The Lincoln Lawyer.

  • So are we talking ten years after the book ended or ten years after the horrid movie adaptation ended. The movie ruined the book. I was hoping this would be a “reboot” and start the story over from the beginning. If they are starting ten years after the movie, well then my interest is waning fast. If they are starting ten years after the book ended then its gonna be interesting to see how they get them back into the U.S. Has the Morolto crime family been brought down or are they still running from them? That could be interesting.
