* NBC’s U.S. adaptation of the UK’s Prime Suspect has recast one of its (many) male roles. Kenneth Johnson of The Shield/Saving Grace/Sons of Anarchy has been tapped to take over as Matt Webb (!), the live-in beau of Maria Bello’s Jane Timoney, a female detective embedded in a testosterone-laden NYPD precinct, Deadline reports. The character was played in the original pilot by Brit actor Toby Stephens (Jane Eyre). SOA boss Kurt Sutter tweeted that Johnson “will still do four episodes (as Kozik) in Season 4,” which bows Sept. 6, and that he’s “leaving it open-ended” so the actor can come back.
* MTV has released a first look of the all-new Beavis and Butt-Head episodes that will begin unspooling this fall. Among the brats’ targets are the celebunots of Jersey Shore, as seen at the 3:10 mark.
* Speaking of animated fare, it was revealed at the Comic-Con panel for Fox’s cartoon version of Napoleon Dynamite that in addition to movie originals Jon Heder (voicing Napoleon), Jon Gries (Uncle Rico), Tina Majorino (Deb), Efren Ramirez (Pedro), Sandy Martin (Grandma) and Diedrich Bader, guest voices on tap for Season 1 include Amy Poehler (Parks and Rec), Sam Rockwell (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind), Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) and Jennifer Coolidge (Best in Show).
* Lifetime has greenlit the TV-movie We Have Your Husband, starring Teri Polo (Meet the Parents) and Esai Morales (Caprica) and based on the true story of a woman’s fight to free her businessman husband, who was held for seven-and-a-half months by kidnappers in Mexico. Also per Deadline: TNT has cast Bill Pullman (Torchwood: Miracle Day) as the lead in Innocent, a TV-movie based on Scott Turow’s sequel to Presumed Innocent. The telepic marks the first entry TNT’s new Tuesday Night Mystery franchise, launching in November.
