Ratings: ABC Wins a Down 'N' Dirty Thursday, FX's Wilfred Dips Slightly

On a night when all broadcast originals were down — and by double digits — ABC came away with the coveted 18-49 demo win, with Wipeout scoring Thursday’s best rating (2.0). CBS meanwhile averaged the most total viewers, with a Mentalist repeat (7.77 million) topping the night.

Here’s how it broke down:

* Leading the 8 o’clock hour, Wipeout drew 6.5 million viewers and a 2.0 demo rating, down 16 and 19 percent week-to-week. So You Think You Can Dance (5 mil/1.6) dropped 20 percent from last week’s results show.

* ABC’s Expedition Impossible (6.13 mil/1.8) reality series dominated the 9 pm demos, but was down 14 and 25 percent from its premiere.

* At 10, ABC’s Rookie Blue (5.43 mil/1.4) bested The Mentalist in the demo, and saw the smallest decline of all Big 4 network shows — 8 and 12 percent, respectively. NBC’s Love Bites (1.8 mil/0.7) slipped another 10 and 12 percent.

UPDATE: Over at FX, Wilfred collared 3.3 million total viewers (down 13 percent from its boffo debut), with 2.2 mil falling in the 18-49 demo (down 8 percent). The new comedy, however, saw gains in the Men 18-49 and Adults 25-54 categories — as did lead-out Louie, which at 2.2 mil/1.5 mil was down just single digits.

Wipeout was number one? Good god.

    • jrs says:

Ditto. What kind of morons watch that show?

    • NickC says:

Wipeout sucks Big Red Balls… :) It is a bad rip off of Ninja Warrior.

      • Joe says:

Which is a ripoff of Takashi’s Castle, which is a rip off of Bansuke (sp), which is a ripoff off Endurance… you getting the point yet? Japan has had shows like this forever. They have shows like this like rabbits have babies.

So to call Wipeout a ripoff of any of that is just stupid. America is just starting to get in on the japanese craze of physcial endurance shows.

  2. Bobbi says:

I wanted so badly to like Love Bites because I love Becky Newton. But, I hate the show. It is just really bad.

    • Scott says:

I agree. I quit after the first episode.

    • S says:

I still watch it because Becki is fantastic in it. The other stories are never as good as hers. The show has gotten better but its still inconsistant. One week its amazing, next week its so-so

  3. Amber says:

I was watching Burn Notice (which was awesome!), Wilfred (a slight step down in humor from the premiere), and Louis (maybe this was because I had taken an ambien by this point, but the episode seemed really strange to me).

  4. Stacey says:

We watched suits, and caught up on USA shows on DVR.

  5. Daveedt says:

What about ROYAL PAINS N SUITS?

  6. Tatiana says:

    Rookie Blue was amazing.

  7. Katie says:

I love Rookie Blue!! Wanted to try Love Bites because I love Becki Newton, but it got so many bad reviews. Plus, I knew it was already cancelled, so I didn’t see the point.

  8. Rania says:

I agree with Love Bites, I thought it had some potential but you can just see it failing so early on. I actually loved the first ep of Suits and hoping that goes well and as for Wilfred, the aussie version is awesome but I agree that the first ep of the US one was alot more funnier than the second but reckon it’ll still be hilarious.
