Former All My Children leading lady Sydney Penny has found a (temporary) new home in Salem.

The fan fave is set to join NBC’s Day of Our Lives for a seven-episode stint this summer, timed to the exit of co-star Crystal Chappell, TV Guide Magazine reports. Penny will play a doctor at the rehab clinic treating Carly’s drug addiction.

The Emmy-winning actresses’ arc begins airing Aug. 30.

The two will executive-produce the project — which is still in early development — with Sorkin tapped as writer.

• Following a strong Season 4 premiere showing Tuesday night, truTV has ordered a fifth installment of its docu-series Hardcore Pawn.
