CBS Fall Schedule Revealed: CSI and Good Wife Moved, J.J. Abrams Show Lands on Thursday

The evidence is in: CSI is headed to Hump Day. Meanwhile, The Good Wife has landed herself a hot (?) new date.

CBS unveiled its 2011-12 fall lineup Wednesday morning and the big news is that the long-running CSI is shifting from its age-old Thursday slot to Wednesdays at 10 pm (replacing the axed Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior). The Good Wife is also on the move, relocating from Tuesdays at 10 pm to Sundays at 9 pm.

“It’s our most prestigious show on our most prestigious night,” CBS scheduling chief Kelly Kahl said of Wife‘s new home. “[The fans] will follow the show to Sunday night. This is a quality night and at the top of our quality list is The Good Wife.”

Two and a Half Men — now starring Ashton Kutcher — is staying put on Mondays at 9 pm. CBS president Nina Tassler declined to reveal details regarding Kutcher’s character, except to say that exec producer Chuck Lorre has “cooked up something fabulous.”

As for new fare, Person of Interest — exec-produced by J.J. Abrams and starring Michael Emerson and James Caviezel — was CBS’ best-testing pilot in years, it was touted, and as such will claim the competitive Thursdays-at-9 slot, where it will go up against Grey’s Anatomy and Bones.

Premiering at midseason: Season 3 of Undercover Boss and The 2-2, a new drama executive-produced by Robert De Niro.

  1. Joseph says:

Actually what got my attention are some new Drama / SciFi coming that have some strong actors.

” Unforgettable ” – Has Michael Gaston (Nip Tuck)& Poppy Montgomery (Without a Trace) a story that could work about a woman that with the exception of a moment of trauma has a recall of her entire life.

The other show that looks good is ” Person of Interest ” – this reminds me of ” Burn Notice ” without the humor and crafted by JJ Abrams , lead by Michael Emerson (Lost ) and James Caviezel who might be know best for his role in ” The Passion of the Christ”

  2. kirads09 says:

Person of Interest is gonna rock!

CSI doesn’t need a new time slot. It needs Grissom back. JMHO.

  3. Corinne says:

So happy that Blue Bloods is back! Love that show. :)

  4. Amber MacKinnon says:

Im am very disappointed that they cancelled Criminal minds Suspect Behavior i loved that show boo boo hoo hoo to the lack or ratings :)

  5. Amber says:

:( :( im saddened bout criminal mind suspect behavior

  6. Cait says:

WTF WHERE IS CRIMINAL MINDS?! It was renewed for another season, was it not?!

  7. cait says:

    Whoop never mind…damn.

  8. P J McLeod says:

Can Not believe that you cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour. All the CSI shows have gotten predictable and “old”. Will turn off the TV and read before I will watch them. Samve for the writers of Criminal Minds – plots are depressing and poorly constructed.

Even my husband who is NOT a TV watcher enjoyed “Suspect Behviour”. In the last 5 years only watched 2 shows on your network – Suspect Behaviour and Numbers and you have cancelled both.

Oh well there are a world of books out there and other networks to watch.

  9. JW says:

OMG – moving TGW to Sundays is awful – why did CBS ruin a good thing….

  10. Hudson says:

I guess now I will be watching The Good Wife online or on On Demand because CBS always runs very late on Sundays due to sports and shows almost never start on time. I NEVER watch anything on CBS on Sundays just because I never know when the show will actually start. The Good Wife is one of my favorite shows. I always watched it in the past. Now we’ll see.

  11. Sam says:

I’m so glad CSI Miami is coming back! I’ve been watching that show since 2006. Always record it on DVR whenever I know I’m going to miss the shows. David Caruso is plays Horatio so well! The rest of the cast are awesome too. I hope CSI miami never gets cancelled.

  12. Jason Bryan says:

Sunday Night is the kiss of death for CBS Primetime shows. The football games always run late bumping all the shows back so some are on too late to watch and if you record them you don’t get the full episode. Too bad, this is a good show.

  13. jd says:

Criminal Mind:Suspect Behavior needs to be saved. It was starting to get interesting with them and you got to see what other type of cases was handled by them that the originals didn’t get to.

  14. jason brees says:

Thanks to J.J. Abrams for bringing all new series on television and new seasons of my favorite series. He is a good creator and storyline of his tv series are always new, unique, different and original. Thanks.
