Smallville closed out its 10-year run with some super week-to-week increases, gaining 49 percent in total viewers (with 2.97 million) and surging 63 percent in the demo (to a 1.3 rating). All told, it was the show’s most watched episode since October 15 (“Homecoming”) and its best demos of the season. Viewership swelled during the second hour, with 3.35 mil watching the closing moments.
As Friday’s other scripted finales go, CSI: NY saw a small uptick in audience (to 10.2 million) but dipped 6 percent to a season-low 1.5 demo rating, while Blue Bloods — which like its lead-in is yet-to-be-renewed — ended its freshman run with 11.4 million viewers and a 1.7 rating, up 13 percent in both measures.
Elsewhere on Friday night: CBS’ Flashpoint drew 7.5 million viewers and a 1.3, gaining 8 and 18 percent, respectively, from its season opener. Friday Night Lights (2.8 mil/0.7) dropped 12 percent in the demo.
