After a day filled with countless cancellations, HBO has lifted our spirits with a welcome renewal.

The cabler has officially ordered a third season of the acclaimed New Orleans-based drama, Treme.

Ready for more of today’s TV dish? Well…

• Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey has been cast in an upcoming episode of USA Network’s White Collar, TVGuide.com confirms. Headey will play a cyber hacker who “gets close” to Willie Garson’s Mozzie.

• Robert DeNiro is in talks to portray infamous swindler Bernie Madoff in an upcoming HBO film, says Deadline. The flick is based on the book The Wizard Of Lies: Bernie Madoff And The Death Of Trust.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!! I am so glad to hear this! Treme is the best thing going on TV. I wish it was getting more attention. It is unlike anything else I’ve seen. The writing and acting are amazing.
