Exclusive: Burn Notice Scoops Up Chicago Code Cop Matt Lauria

Well that didn’t take long. The ink on Chicago Code‘s death certificate is still drying and yet Matt Lauria has already lined up his next gig.

The in-demand actor has booked a potentially recurring role on Burn Notice, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.

Ex-Grey’s Anatomy Star Joins Burn Notice

The Friday Night Lights grad — who turns up in fifth episode of the USA Network hit’s upcoming fifth season — plays Ethan, a discharged soldier whose intelligence and tenacity piques the interest of the CIA and reminds Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) of himself.

Burn Notice‘s fifth season is set to premiere on June 23.

  • Good casting. I see a bit of Jeffrey Donovan in Matt Lauria as well. Shame FOX decided to cancel their best new show this season.

  • That makes the canceling of TCC a little bit better… A LITTLE.

  • Good for him. I agree with Dean and Kelly on both counts. It WAS and IS a shame they canceled a great show. More power to Matt for getting such a quick deal!

  • Will Burn Notice still be shot on-location in Florida? I wonder if Florida is still giving them tax breaks so they can afford to continue to shoot in Florida. I’ve heard of problems like this happening, like with Fringe where they had to move from New York into Vancouver.
