  1. John Berggren says:

I’m surprised how close Clay vs. Archie is. Of course if Solitaire had won in the earlier round, I’d have picked Clay.

    • Mia says:

Archuleta’s version of Imagine will forever make me think of this amazing Pas de Deux from So You Think You Can Dance: That might not be fair to Clay, but it made Imagine one of my favorite covers ever, not just on AI. It had a beautiful moment on not one, but two shows!

      • darclyte says:

I never liked Archie doing Imagine. I never was a fan of his airy, gaspy voice. As Simon would day, “sorry.”

        • Something wrong with your ears (plus you can’t spell)! Sorry!

          • Annoula says:

As another English teacher, I have the obligation of informing you that while you may criticize darclyte’s spelling, your grammar is imperfect as well. Also, there’s nothing wrong with darclyte’s ears; I agree that Imagine wasn’t that brilliant.

  2. jennifer says:

I would have voted for Daughtry’s Hemorrhage or Wanted Dead or Alive instead of Walk the Line. Can’t beat Heartless IMHO.

    • darclyte says:

I agree with your Daughtry comments. We’ll see what Heartless goes up against, but it was pretty impressive.

      • Lourdes says:

I was surprised on relisten how pitchy “I Walk The Line” was at the beginning. I loved Daughtry during his season, but this wasn’t the vocal that I remember him for. On the other hand, I still count “Heartless” as one of my favorite Kris Allen performances EVER.

  3. Bobby says:

Heartless & Imagine for me. Both IMO 2 of the Top 5 Idol Performances Ever (I will have seriously trouble choosing between Imagine & Mad World if that matchup happens)

    • Teresa says:

“Heartless” and “Imagine” for me, too. I give them the edge for being game changers.

“Bridge Over Troubled Water” was one of a series of great Clay performances. “Imagine” was Archie’s “Hello.”

Daughtry came into the finals as a front-runner, “Heartless” was the performance that turned Kris from cannon fodder into champion. Imagine that. Kris was cannon fodder all the way to Top 3.

      • @galaga6846 says:

I remember how groundbreaking and original they thought Clay’s arrangement on BOTW was, but it was the exact same arrangement of that song that the Junior/Senior choir of my High School did in 1993. Everything. Down to the vocal runs in the male solo.

  4. Malcolm says:

Surprised Clay’s losing. Really thought people liked him more than Archie in general.

    • Aronna says:

The large majority of Clay’s fans don’t spend their time voting in polls that relate to American Idol. Clay has moved way on with the show and so haven’t the bulk of his fans.

      • Cassi says:

Clay Aiken has very few fans left, and some who are left, resort to bot-voting in polls.

And “maggie,” since you must be a Claymate, I’m sure you know this, but Aiken’s fans do everything in their power to vote against Adam, including, but not limited to, the aforementioned bot-voting. Your statement about Adam’s fans voting against Aiken is just another example of the Claymates’ double standard and “Pot Calling the Kettle Black Syndrome.” The Claymates can’t stand anybody who isn’t Aiken to begin with, but after the incident where Aiken commented that he thought his ears would bleed when he heard Adam sing “Ring of Fire,” the Claymates have been attacking Adam and his fans, via message boards and polls, with a vengeance.

        • Ugh! STOP IT!!! says:

“Claymates” and “Glamberts” are all weird and verging on insane.

        • Kettlemeetpot says:

Idol fans are all pot meet kettle, Kettle meet pot. You all do things against other idols. You make up fake turf wars to get the pot stirred up in the fan bases. You are as crazy as any other fan group. My idol is better than yours. Pot meet kettle, kettle meet pot.

        • ohbabs says:

obsessed adam fan here, just voted for Clay, because his performance was the best against archie. god we are not all strategists.
Why can’t we just get along?
it all started because clay has P-envy of Adam methinks.

    • maggie says:

Don’t forget that Adam fans vote against Clay in every single poll on the internet, and admit it. They are just so vindictive and smug. What a waste of a life. Adam isn’t even on some polls, and they are still pounding the keys. Sick

David is good, and very nice, but Clay completely overpowers him vocally. His range and tone are unmatched. Wish David success though, as there are so few good role models out there for the younger set. Think he needs confidence in interviews too. His singing voice is nasal, and that is probably because of the injured vocal cords in his past.

      • Brenda says:

What are you talking about? Adam’s fans don’t vote against Clay. The Adam fans I know could care less about Clay – don’t even give him a thought. What in the world does Clay have to do with Adam. And, by the way..I’m an Adam fan and I’d vote for Clay over Archie in this one – Bridge Over Troubled Water is an incredible performance. As much as I love Michael Slezak, this thing has, once again, fueled these stupid Idol fan wars.

        • Theresa says:

Brenda, I am positive you are wrong on this one. Someone checks his board, and there was a CALL TO ARMS for Adam’s fans to vote against Clay on polls. More than one saw it too. It’s a known fact, but you may not be aware of it. They discuss it online!!!! I try to stay away from this stuff when I can.

Maggie is correct, but I happen to be one who thinks both Clay and Adam have the best voices and performing skills ever on Idol.

It’s just a matter of taste, and I think I prefer Clay’s music for the most part. Also think he is hilarious.

          • aislinn says:

Fanwars abound on all sides in this Idol environment; they’re not limited to Adam fans. Unfortunately, this type of competition and all the others out there tend to fuel the fire all over again, and people pointing fingers at each other’s favorite just keeps it going forever.

          • IDOLOONEY says:

Yes, it IS just a matter of taste. While I always did love BOTW, when I attended a Clay concert not too long ago, he refused to sing that song, which kinda turned me off to him. But I do love anything Archie sings, and he’s more consistently great. But that’s my opinion, yes – and I’m not alone! But seriously, I would never attend an Adam Lambert concert – really turned me off to him, totally – and I’m not just talking about his performances, but he’s gross! He belongs in Europe where his type of shows are easily accepted.

      • kayk says:

Wrong generalization, maggie! I was and still am a diehard fan of both Clay AND Adam, both because of their talent and the fact that they are both intelligent, genuinely nice people…and I am in fact still bitter that they “lost” but am glad that they went on to far greater success than the “winners” of their seasons. Why would you think being a fan of Clay and a fan of Adam would have to be mutually exclusive? Why would it be an either/or situation? Then I read more carefully your nasty comments about Adam and/or Adam fans – “What a waste of a life”??? REALLY? Sheesh. PLease don’t belive you can speak for everyone or that everyone thinks what you think.

      • aislinn says:

What nonsense. I’m an Adam fan, but I’m voting in these brackets based on the individual performances. I don’t care who the performers are, as much as what they did with these songs. Voting against someone is quite a silly and immature act on anyone’s part – this would be a more meaningful competition if people truly focused on the specific performances.

I love Heartless and the way that Kris reinterpreted it – great performance. I had a harder time with the Clay/Archie matchup. Bridge was too bombastic of a performance for me to love it, although Clay sings it well. David does a nice job with Imagine, but it doesn’t really move me the way, say, Jordin’s I Who Have Nothing does.

    • I used to be a huge Clay fan – until Archie came on the scene at Hollywood Week and blew me & the judges away – and obviously MANY others!

  5. Rachel says:

Oh god!! Choosing between Daughtry and Kris Allen has got to be the hardest decision yet! Both were my faves during their respective seasons (although closely tied with Elliott Yamin and Adam Lambert/Allison Iraheta respectively) But I had to go with Heartless cus it’s the standout performance when I think of Kris’s run on Idol. I think it really pushed him to the final and helped him win it all. He wouldn’t have won without that bold performance. Whereas Daughtry’s performance of Walk the Line is just grouped together with his other solid performances. I don’t think I could pick it from memory if you’d asked me for his most memorable performance. So that’s why I went with Kris. Heartless was a true Idol moment that catapulted him to a dark horse victory!

  6. Nat says:

Looking further along down the tournament, it looks like ‘Heartless’ and ‘Mad World’ will likely end up going head to head…THAT will be interesting.

    • Robin says:

I saw that coming from the very begining. Just when the drama of season 8 had settled, Slezak had to stir the pot! LOL!

      • Mia says:

If that happens, I honestly don’t know how I would vote. Adam did a wonderful job, but Kris made me love a song I had never even liked. I’m having flashbacks to the season 8 finale, when I preferred Kris but wanted Adam to win just so people wouldn’t say Kris didn’t deserve it :(

        • Teresa says:

If it’s “Heartless” against “Mad World”…. oh man, that’s going to hurt. I’m an Adam fan, but I don’t know how I’ll choose at this point.

    • KradamMyIdol says:

Yeh.. I noticed that just yesterday and totally looking forward to it!!

Whoever wins this, I don’t care, but I want Kris and Adam to be the final two.. It’ll be like reliving the American Idol – Season 8 (One of the most talented season)!!!

      Yay.. Kris ♥VS♥ Adam !!!!

  7. MSD says:

Surprised Daughtry is getting beat so bad…. that Walk The Line was such a defining awesome moment, in my opinion. Guess this is also coming from a gal who never FULLY got on board with Kris’ Idol run….

    • Matt Webb Mitovich says:

      I don’t get it, either!

    • kylie says:

I can assure you the millions of Daughtry fans don’t waste time voting on Michael’s polls. Chris D. doesn’t need the attention, so ANYONE pitted against Daughtry is bound to win. It happens every time.

Not voting for HIM in particular, but he is surely a far better singer/performer than Kris in general, so I gave him my vote.

As for Clay fans, getting burned by Michael himself and Adam’s fans, have soured most of them on these AI polls. Everyone knows the deck is always stacked in Adam’s favor, and any means of voting is acceptable for him. I don’t know a soul who doesn’t roll eyes at their practices.

Doesn’t make Adam a better artist by any means when he wins, and Clay is very well known for his exquisite voice and warm personality. Adam can surely sing very well, but his on stage porn act is offsetting to say the least. His fans will ruin him at some point too.

David A. is a sweet kid, with supportive fans. It’s ok if he beats Clay, although Imagine was not nearly the vocal performance that Bridge Over Troubled Water was.

      • GinaBallerina says:

Re: Clay’s “warm” personality. I never had anything against him when he was on Idol, but didn’t he start the feud by saying that Adam’s “Ring of Fire” made his ears bleed? I remember seeing him quoted as saying this. He went on and on about it. That was unnecessary. Because of this, he deserves whatever Adam fans throw his way.
Let’s not try to rewrite history here.

        • anabelle says:

Ok, so granted it wasn’t the nicest of comments but he does have a right to his opinion. And as shocking as this may be for you, not everyone likes Adam’s music. I was shocked at the amount of praise he earned during his season because I tbought the majority of his performances were horrible.

          • GinaBallerina says:

Hey, I understand that not everyone likes Adam music, and that’s cool. No need for the condescension. I’m not saying Clay has to like his music, but saying something so mean really reflected poorly on Clay, not Adam.

        • Rene says:

There are a bunch of idol polls going on this month on the internet…and none of them have any meaning whatsoever–except for hits for the sites. Why start fan wars over these polls?

        • jay says:

I don’t think he “went on and on” about it; it was an opinion, maybe given a bit unexpectedly and arguably a bit harsher than intended, but it was just his opinion. My understanding was he said he understood Adam could sing but that performance wasn’t a good showing of it. If I recall, Adam has said the same type thing himself about others and he has been basically given a pass because he was “just being honest”. So was Aiken. Just because some don’t like the honesty doesn’t mean it wasn’t a legitimate opinion, Adam’s or Clay’s. Granted, not everyone agrees with either one of those opinions and THAT is an opinion in and of itself. It’s really all a bit overblown.

One thing to consider is that the internet is full of people who like to yank a chain or two; perhaps the voting against is not even a fan of either one but someone who wishes to stir the muck, ya know?

Just keep it civil, vote for your honest choice, don’t encourage fan war, and just enjoy the “game”.

Personally I think all the choices are tough, which is a testament to all of them exhibiting some real abilities.

Kudos for getting to revisit some of them.

          • GinaBallerina says:

Hey, I’m not trying to ignite any fan wars, but for a few posters here to suggest that Adam fans just come out en masse to vote against Clay, absolutely unprovoked, is simply untrue, and I was just trying to show that. Honestly, even as a huge Adam fan myself, I didn’t even know that other Adam fans did this. But now that I know, I’m simply suggesting a reason (Clay’s quote, which I can’t remember exactly, but was much meaner than you suggested – I read nothing like “he can sing but…”) why they may do this. I didn’t mean to encourage any “fan wars.”
Oh, and if you are referencing Adam’s quote about Susan Boyle, that was pretty mean, too, and I can admit it. I wouldn’t defend that. I just think it’s in the best interests of these artists to not say anything if they can’t say something nice. It only reflects poorly on them.

  8. Brecken P says:

Two dead heats for me. I initially voted for Aiken, but have since reconsidered after rewatching the two performances–there are a couple of Aiken performances I’d take over “Imagine” (“Solitaire,” “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me,” “Build Me Up Buttercup”), but “Bridge Over Troubled Water” isn’t one of them.
I voted for Kris over Chris, although I didn’t expect that one to be such a blowout. It was a really tough decision for me, but I do think Allen’s performance deserves the win.

  9. blingedup.susan says:

These have been hard for me lately…..not this one! Easy!

  10. SharonM says:

I could watch ‘Heartless’ over and over.

  11. L says:

Definitely a hard round! The hardest for me was choosing between Daughtry and Kris Allen. I love both. I ultimately went with Kris because that was his arrangement of the song, whereas Daughtry was Live’s version. Love both though and this is getting really hard.

    • Jenny says:

That was what sort of made my decision as well. Heartless was just so much more memorable because it was completely unexpected. Just the thought of Kris Allen performing a Kayne West song shouldn’t work, but it did. Walk the Line was a fantastic performance, but it was a typical Daughtry performance. Heartless was just a bit better because of the unexpected feel of it.

  12. Ktct says:

When I hear Heartless, I still picture Kris in that black Henley…Makes me happy!

  13. Diana says:

Kris Allen’s song wins over Daughtry because “Heartless” is what put him over the top therefore winning the crown of American Idol” The same should be for Clay…although he didn’t win lol

  14. Paul says:

I voted for the two performances behind in the polls haha. I loved Clay’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”– it really was such a HUGE way to end Season 2 on a true ‘moment,’ something that we’ve only had a couple other times as a season-ender (like Fantasia’s “I Believe” or Crystal’s “Up To The Mountain.”) It really is, for me, one of the biggest moments in Idol history. Whereas yes, while Archuleta’s “Imagine” was great, it just doesn’t measure up to “BOTW” for me. (for you for me for you).

I’m not as surprised that Daughtry is losing to Kris (Loved Heartless too!) but for me, Daughtry paved the way for so many future rockers on the show (Cook or Lambert for example)– but Kris is great too. Either one here is good for me.

  15. Name That Tune says:

I’m not someone who cares either way about Archie v. Yemin. They will get beat in the next round. Don’t get goosebumps from either one. But Daughtry was a heck of lot more revolutionary with his Walk the Line. I’m thinking these early trailblazers are fading in our memories. After all that was 5 seasons ago. Some of us weren’t even watching this show 5 years ago. Regardless, he would outlast any of Season 10’s players.

    • GinaBallerina says:

I think you’re right. There definitely seems to be an advantage for the contestants of more recent seasons. Michael included all of the video links but it seems people just aren’t watching them (in some cases, not every case). Or maybe people just lean more toward the performances they saw when they happened the first time vs. Youtube?

      • Teresa says:

Well, I clicked on almost every link. I think I only passed on Allison’s because I’ve watched her performances so often and they are so strong in my mind. But I made it a point to watch everyone else and try to vote for what I thought was the better performance.

Damnit! This a tournament! We should be more impartial than the AI judges!

    • MHO is just the opposite – and I know we’re both entitled to one. But both Archie & Yamin gave me goosebumps in their respective seasons, but I still follow Archie & buy up everything he puts out. But I never cared for Daughtry, but then I really don’t like his style OR his personality OR his ego from the moment he got the boot. As for his fading away because he was in Season 5, Carrie Underwood was Season 4, and she’s still going strong – and so is Kelly Clarkson (love them both too)! So to each his own!

  16. Megan Hartman says:

Kris Allen- Heartless. DUH. I am his all time biggest fan, but even if I wasn’t I would have to say that his song was WAY better than all the others. I love you, Kris. :)

  17. Evan says:

Michael Slezak, do you follow Eurovision? If you are at all interested, check out Kati Wolf’s “What About My Dreams?” I’m not sure how the live performance will be–there are questions about her vocal talent– but the song itself is amazing.

  18. Elaine says:

David Archuleta is the best singer idol ever had.

  19. cobby says:

David Archuleta’s voice and on his heartfelt “Imagine” cover gave me the chills and brought tears to my eyes. Magnificent! I will never forget it.

    • dp says:

what I don’t understand is why slezak only featured one Archuleta performance in the bracket. There were so many others that deserved to be in it as well: Don’t Let the Sun go Down on me for one.

  20. flutiefan says:

while Imagine was an easy choice for me (it’s simply my fave AI performance of all time), the Kris-Chris showdown wasn’t quite so clear cut. i had to ultimately do Heartless, because it was such a game changer and a perfect Idol moment. but if it had been up against Hemorrhage, i would’ve been tossing a coin.

  21. JVC says:

I expected the battle of the runner-ups to be close. I’m surprised Archie is ahead of Akien. Still it could change and I voted for clay. I am more surprised is that in the battle of the chrises, Allen is beating Daughtry by a wide margin, and I’m a kris allen fan. Still I think if it was heartless against Hemorrhage, it would’ve been closer. But if it was ain’t no sunshine against hemorrhage, people would resort to coin tossing. Am I right?

  22. Gen says:

I usually don’t vote on Idol contests at all, but in this case i am going to make an exception. BOTW by Clay is bar far the best performance in the history of Idol IMO. So i will place my vote for Clay aiken. As far as the stuff written above about the remark Clay made about Adam he was just giving his opinion on one song not Adam’s whole season. He does have a right to his opinion just as Adam has a right to his when he bashed someone on this year’s competition. Should everyone hate on Adam or was he just giving his opinion.

    • aislinn says:

Saying that a song “made my ears bleed” is bashing. Saying “I think he’s got talent and passion 100%, but I feel like he’s trying way too hard,” is a nuanced opinion and constructive criticism. Adam went on to comment about pitch, both positive and negative, and what James could do to improve. Nothing comparable there.

      • Gen says:

In response to your post i believe that Clay said that Adam did have a good voice just did not like that one song. It’s no different than what Adam said about James so let’s look at objectively shall we.

      • Linda says:

IIRC, Clay was posting on his own blog, not giving an interview. He certainly has a right to express his opinion there of all places, and his metaphor was colorful, but effective. :) I happen to disagree with him completely. I thought Ring Of Fire was brilliant. But he felt strongly and he spoke strongly. Big deal.

  23. Leslie says:

Definitely Heartless by Kris – Just rewatched that episode the other night. The look on the judges’ faces, especially Paula & Simon, when Kris finished singing were priceless. I would have loved to have known what Paula whispered to Simon. I think she knew in that moment that her prediction of a Gokey/Lambert finale would not come true. Then, instead of praising Kris, she made some lame comment about how he was brave because he sang a song describing Cowell, then said Kris was “relevant” because he did something different, but could only manage a brief “good job.” I rewatched Kanye’s performance of the song on Idol, then watched Kris’. You could hardly tell they were the same song, each were so different. To quote Kara, “It was bold, it was brave, it was fearless…”

  24. LH says:

You can always tell what idol stars have yet to make it because all their fans do is spam articles and vote on meaningless idol polls. The people that HAVE made it aka Kelly, Carrie and Chris fans don’t do this because they don’t have anything to prove, those idols are huge stars. It seems some idol’s fans still think they have to try and prove something.

  25. Volcfom says:

I’m so sad that Clay is losing this round… I never understood Archuleta’s appeal. I watched that entire season and I can’t remember any of his other songs. The only reason I remembered “Imagine” is because I saw it on the bracket.

  26. Kat says:

Comments on this poll always seen to boil down to:

    1. The Claymates and the Glamberts ripping each other apart.
    2. Those making excuses for Idols whose fans don’t support them online. (Then why are they even bothering to comment if polls are so meaningless?)
    3. Those making snide comments about David Archuleta.

If you fall into one of those categories, please stop.

  27. Zach says:

I uploaded a video to youtube two years ago under “thezachman” with my pics of the best performances on idol and I have to say clays performance was probably at the top of it. Loved all of it!

  28. asmiralda says:

Well, as a singer is not supposed to say :” my ears bleed to hear…..”, that’s not nice!!!! A singer with good character won’t do that. As young as Archie is, he is always polite and well manner. He always praises other singers. That’s why I love Archie, moreover he has a beautiful voice. His “imagine” performance was amazing, gave me goose bumps and brought tears to my eyes. Archie all the way!!!!!!!!!

  29. sunny says:

Why can’t people just vote for their favorite performance & not say bad things about other idols? It is ridiculous & annoying!!

  30. betsy says:

well THIS didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to, did it? How do we end up with David Archuleta in the top four? against Clay Aiken? Who cares about either one of those guys? Sorry, they’re good singers, but to be in the top four? Over Adam Lambert and Elliot Yamin and David Cook? That doesn’t make sense.

    • Brecken P says:

This isn’t the top 4. The winners of this round move on to the final 4 (guys) alongside Adam Lambert’s “Mad World” and David Cook’s “Always Be My Baby.” Then, on the girls’ side, we’ve still got Fantasia’s “Summertime,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Natural Woman,” Allison Iraheta’s “Cry Baby,” Carrie Underwood’s “Alone,” Jennifer Hudson’s “Circle Of Life,” and Melinda Doolittle’s “My Funny Valentine.”

    • aj says:

Because David Archuleta’s “Imagine” was one of the best performances on AI & because a lot of his fans love him!!

  31. Pat says:

Clay Aiken all they way! Idol found, game over!!

  32. Becky says:

I abhor fan wars!! It makes me sick when people can throw someone to a curb by posting hateful comments!!! These polls have become silly due to name calling and who is best.. but I will interject this..Clays performance of BOTW was outstanding and something that will forever be etched in my mind.. and yes I am a huge fan of this man!!! enough said!!! I also like Kelly C from season I’m not totally biased..

  33. DFT says:

As much as I liked Archie (and I think “Crush” is a great pop song), Clay just has a truly beautiful, amazing voice. I’m genuinely surprised Archie is winning this one.

Interesting take; it made me think about my choice of Imagine. Clay was my favorite idol until David sang Imagine. I own both songs, but I listen more to David’s music than I do Clay’s.

There is just something about David’s voice that captivates me. It reminds me more of a tone of a cello perhaps; whereas, Clay’s reminds me more of a trumpet. Both are great and have a place in today’s music scene. It’s just that I prefer David’s. By a lot.

David Archuleta is the best singer ever to come out of Idol, that’s my opinion. Interesting that so many snide remarks are made about him by other idols fans.

The type of music one likes and listens to is a matter of taste. Clay was my favorite until David A. came along. I cannot listen to Adam, his music makes me cringe, Kris and Chris are ok. Does this mean I hate the others, no, it means my musical taste prefers David A.

If the runner up is more successful than the winner, than they should be stripped of their title. Kris Allen, you are a loser!

LOL. Kris won, is a winner in many people’s eyes career-wise and is doing just fine. I suspect you know this and that is really what is gnawing at you.

there will NEVER be a better singer on idol that could top david archuleta…..singer-songwriter-author-tv actor…and sings in 4 languages….got the whole package for super stardom…not to mention how good looking he is—david is the BEST……….

Imagine and Heartless were the two songs that made me fans of David and Kris. It’s cool that I can vote for both.

i think its very obvious that these polls are biased towards the later seasons…many idol fans never watched the earlier seasons and/or they arent as fresh in the minds of the voters. very skewed sampling going on here. that said, i have watched all 10 seasons and BOTW was really outstanding. and its daughtry>allen for me too…with the exception of season 8 and kind of season 7, the later idol years have been hugely disappointing.

I can’t believe the best performance ever is already getting knocked out by Archie. Imagine was good, but NOTHING will ever compare to that finale with Clay. I have a feeling a lot of the voters might not have been watching Idol that long ago.

HAHAHAHAHAH – Looks like ur wrong, the voters have spoken!

Clay was good, But Imagine blows anything Clay ever sang on Idol out of the water.

DAVID ARCHULETA has to win. He sang the song wonderful. When he sang it made me cry. Clay sing amazing but david’s voice has something very sweet to it.

    Great singer, great song.

  42. kelly says:

Imagine won simply because his fans ridiculously support him on polls. Good for them. However, it was WAY overrated on Idol and since.

Clay’s fans are up and down with voting. After the fiasco with Adam in a previous poll, they decided not to be fooled again. It’s as simple as that.

Like David, and voted for him in his year, but Clay is worlds above him vocally. David has a nasal quality and airy tone that is not good. He’s a very nice kid though, and I am fine with him winning.

That said, Clay and Adam still had the best vocal performances overall on Idol for me. Maybe, Carrie’s Alone was up there too, and a couple of others come to mind. However, Clay gets NO support from radio, the media and Idol. There’s the difference in a nutshel, and it’s a waste of a superior voice. He has to watch what he says, but he apologized, and others have said and done far worse. They got a pass, however.

Oh STFU. Archuleta won. Simple. Period. No soliloquies or BS whiny opinions necessary. The majority rules, more people see it differently, so deal with it, and STFU..
