Jersey Shore's Situation Scores New MTV Deal

This isn’t a spinoff Situation per se, but Jersey Shore‘s Mike Sorrentino is sticking around MTV a little bit longer.

Proving that he’s more than just a reality star (?), the former Dancing With the Stars stud (?) has signed a series development deal with the network that made him famous, TVLine confirms.

“I’m excited to continue my relationship with MTV, which has been home for me for the last couple of years,” Sorrentino said in a statement to Variety, which first reported the news. “I’m really grateful for all the support from my fans. Hopefully, there will be plenty more situations in the future.”

Sorrentino is not currently attached to a specific project, but a pilot episode of whatever the Jersey standout has in mind is expected to shoot later this year.

The Situation isn’t alone in his alterna-Shore endeavors: Last month, MTV announced spinoffs for BFFs Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, respectively. Both of those shows launch in 2012.

  1. BRETT says:

MTV would be silly to order a Situation spinoff. Look at his product sales – they are nowhere near those of Snooki, Jenni, or Pauly. They deserved spinoffs, he doesn’t.

Dare I say Pauly has an actual talent. He makes music. Granted he is a DJ which, for whatever reason, I hear a lot of people diss him for that. Thats why I thought he deserved a spin off…

This might be the stupidest idea ever

  3. Gazerbeam says:

I continue to be flabbergasted. I spent a lot of money to go to college and get an education, got a decent job, and I’m generally nice to the people around me. Apparently, I should have been a deliberately stupid, uneducated, crass, narcissistic douche and I’d have made a fortune.
Someone answer me this: “Why the frak do I know who this dummy is?”

    Will it be called butterface?

This just goes to prove that any jackass can get a tv show.
