Glee First Look: Watch Matthew Morrison and Kristin Chenoweth's 'Dreams' Duet Now!

April Rhodes is back — and just in time to celebrate McKinley High’s version of Fleet week!

Kristin Chenoweth’s randy kookmeister returns to Fox’s Glee this Tuesday (8/7c) to lend her considerable charm (and her even more considerable pipes!) to the Fleetwood Mac-themed hour titled, appropriately, “Rumours.”

Spoiler Alert: Glee Death Clue!

In the following exclusive clip, April and Will get those old sparks flying again when they perform a cover of “Dreams” in front of a glaptive (glee club + captive) audience.

  • Glee, Please leave Fleetwood Mac alone.. Landslide was a disaster. This one is just boring. Leave the classics, get back to Rihanna’s songs.

    • I think they did a great job with this song and the other songs in this episode are really good too. They can sing more than just top 40 songs well you know.

Comment by Paul – May 2, 2011 12:23 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
      • I heard the other songs and I believe that this is the weakest setlist they had in a while. I love Fleetwood Mac, but Glee can’t really built episode around it.
and my point was that they can’t. because It’s just not such a hard work to outsing Justin Bieber. but when their covers of The Beatles, The Doors, and AC/DC were a mess. They should cover 80 pop songs only. the big classics are just too good for this massive-production-auto-tune kind of thing. (It works for the old pop songs, I guess).

        • Glee is a great television but I agree that it should stop covering so many wonderful songs and sometimes they do cover them very well it’s just the fact that these songs are known from Glee and not the original product that sometimes bothers me.It also gets credit for covers like having the most singles on the billboard hot 100 beating out the Beatles that to me is unfair since the Glee songs are mostly covers and the Beatles all worked hard to achieve what Glee did by covering the songs

Comment by J – May 2, 2011 01:16 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
          • Learn about music, sugar. Some of the most popular/highly sold singles by the bands you mention were covers themselves. A cover is not meant to be an imitation, that is where people like you get it wrong. They sing a cover, which is their OWN TAKE on a song that already exists. Do a little research on bands like Led Zep, the Stones, AC/DC, and yes, the Beatles. Plenty of their songs were, in fact, covers of songs by the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, and others. Glee does a wonderful job with these songs, as long as you can open their eyes and see them for what they are. Remember that this show is about a high school show choir, not a group of veteran band members. Stop having unrealistic expectations and just enjoy it for what it IS, rather than what you think it should be.

          • The fact that Glee is covering these songs is also making them popular with the younger generations that are mostly only familiar with billboard top 100. They are downloading songs by the original artists as well as the “Glee Cast Version”. Besides, I’m fairly certain that the producers have to get permission from the original artists before they can cover the songs. Its a win/win situation.

          • i agree with kimberly, they do their own take on other songs. Just to make it even, name your favorite singer/band, then look up what “covers” they have done, im pretty sure they at least did one!

          • AMEN. Glee is introducing great music to a generation who thinks that if it was recorded before 1998 it isn’t cool. There are decades of great music out there. They are paying homage and I think, they are doing a great job.

          • they may be covering songs and beating things like the beatles but the fact is the beatles are past glee is present if they are beating the beatles on the billboard then good for them they have amazing voices and so what if they cover songs not harming anyone!

i have respect for the cast of glee they are amazing and the stories they put behind the songs make it easy to relate to for alot of people young and old.

talking about taking it from the original product look how as soon as glee did the whole Journey thing Journey’s albums and tracked sold so much more and became popular again so if anything its helping the original product re-sell and become popular again so i believe your wrong on that one!

        • I think this is the best setlist they’ve had in a while, and I think the version of Songbird has a lot of emotion in it. And none of the songs are autotuned, the only horrible autotuning the do are with Top 40 songs. I personally think that their Beatles covers, although they were different, were beautiful.

Comment by Diane – May 2, 2011 02:55 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
        • Gotta disagree with auto tune. Both actors are phenomenal singers in their own right. This was a really nice, understated version of the original.

    • you have no taste of musik every song they made from glee where great and this one is great too why do you think the young children hear more older musik because of glee

Comment by keller93 – May 2, 2011 01:32 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
      • Uhm, no. Plenty of younger children hear older music from their parents, aunts/uncles and grandparents. I may be 20 now, but growing up all the music I listened to was from my parents generation and I’ve heard the original to almost every song they’ve preformed on Glee long before Glee started airing. I never even listened to what was playing on the radio until well into my teens (excluding acts like Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC.) and I still really don’t. I’ll take 70′s and 80′s music over current any day. My 11 year old cousin listens to more oldies than current as well. Point being, don’t lump whole generations together. Just because one person is one way doesn’t mean the whole group is.

Comment by Jessica – May 2, 2011 02:05 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
        • I agree with Jessica. I’m 22 and well-known for my obsession with 80s music. This mostly stems from my parents’ influence.

Comment by Casi – May 2, 2011 02:30 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
      • Whatever. I like the fact that bands like Fleetwood Mac gets some promotion thru the show, but most of the kids are just going to have the glee versions on their ipods. Those versions are a nice homage to the original songs but those kids needs to be exposed to the real music instead of those weak covers.

Comment by N – May 3, 2011 07:43 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • @N- Yeah, I disagree too. I think this was good. Most covers are not going to be better than the originals. And ick, we here enough popular crap on the radio. It’s nice to know people still listen to and encourage others to listen to someone as great as Fleatwood Mac.

    • Not everyone want to continuously hear Rihanna dribble. There’s a lot of music genres out there, and more than just your age group demographic to consider. Touching on Rumours is brilliant, as it pays homage to a sound and a time before you were born, and that sat at the top of the charts for a decade. How was “Dreams”? It was just ok, I will agree, but to NOT do it, would be a mistake. This show continuously dips into material that surprises. They need to keep that up, to keep it fresh. You dont need only new music to do that.

  • Loved what was going on in Artie and Finn’s faces during that song. Both of them looking a mite suspicious while Brittany and Quinn looked on obliviously. Something interesting playing out in Santana as well.

Aside from the obvious size difference, kinda looked like Kurt was dressing out of his Dad’s closet this week…

I enjoyed the song, too. Anytime Chenoweth sings is a good time. Landslide was more meh… possibly because I have just heard the original a few too many times.

  • I love that Glee does covers of classic rock and pop. I think those actually tend to be the best episodes. The only cover they did that I thought was weak was the Billy Joel cover, but otherwise they have amazing remakes. I especially loved Kurt’s version of I Wanna Hold Your Hand and the Puck/Artie version of One Love. When they do too much Lady Gaga and the like I tend to stop watching. I agree with some of the comments above- these covers are not meant to be a replica of the original, but thier own version of the song. People are way to sensitive about remakes of films/books and covers of songs. This just means more people will go and explore the originals.

  • Honestly, I’m a big fan of Fleetwood Mac, so when i heard they were doing songs from their album, I was like, “ok, lets se how this goes”. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! OMG people should not keep comparing Glee to the original because honestly, They might be the same Lyrics and tune, but at the same time, its completly different! I love both versions of ALL the songs, and i think glee should keep on the same track.
PS- Anyone who didn’t Like landslide, it’s because it’s different, and thats not bad. You just need to stop comparing it, and enjoy glee for what it is.
