TVLine Items: NBC Schedules Love Bites, The Voice Adds Star Power, and Other News to Know

Lovely news: NBC has finally found a suitable spot to launch Becki Newton‘s long-shelved rom-com, Love Bites.

An network insider confirms to TVLine that the anthology-style sitcom — which was sneak-peeked for reporters almost a year ago at NBC’s annual upfront presentation — will have its time to shine during a nine-week run this summer, starting Thursday, June 2 at 10/9c. Unfortunately, the beloved Newton (Ugly Betty) has since been cast in an untitled CBS pilot, so the likelihood of Bites garnering an extension beyond that is slim.

Love Bites‘ debut was first reported by New York Magazine‘s Vulture blog.

I was wondering why Monica kept on popping up in Adam Levine’s twitpics from the set

  2. Diana says:

Oh that’s good news about Love Bites (at least for me). I was interested in it but didn’t really want to add another show. It’ll be good to watch this summer. I wish more shows were short-term!

  3. Kenbud says:

Re: Susan Lucci ………. Friday is the 29th. Assuming you mean Friday as in tonight.

  4. dssfaz says:

Why would they put Love Bites up against Rookie Blue!! Why not behind the voice??

  5. Steph says:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE SIA! I’m going to definitely have to watch The Voice if she’s on.

  6. Dirk says:

WHAT THE WHAT?! Love Bites is actually going to air? Something smells fishy here. Not that I won’t be watching, of course.

Although, the real question here is: if Love Bites were to actually be a success for NBC, how many of the actors and behind the scene people would they realistically be able to bring back for a second season?

  7. emily says:

Love Bites, I almost forgot about it. It sounded like a horrible show and I can’t see it lasting long.
Reba on the Voice, damm, now I have to watch.

  8. tazzy says:

Before we start to annoint “The Voice” to a place in the all time hall of fame for TV shows, shouldn’t we wait a couple of more weeks or months and see how it continues to perform?
You know, Glee started off this season at around a 5.8 demo rating and has now slid to the high 3’s. Yes, yes, I know that is still very good, but it is down to earth a little more.

Lots of shows have premiered huge in the past and have slid. Before its success is compared to Idol (which has maintained much higher ratings than this over 8-9 years), let’s see how it does once the novelty has worn off . . if indeed it does wear off.
The point is, Let’s get a grip

So discusted in your promotion of the homosexual life style in Love Bits. If the whole world began to practice that life style it would only take a few generations for us humans to become extent. Why can’t we have some good clean wholesome programs that don’t promote your agenda. Why are you trying to brainwash our teens into thinking that that life style is so good. I wish for once you would show the truth about deseases passed from one person to another in that life style.
