Office Star Ed Helms Scores SNL Hosting Duties

Saturday Night Live has locked in The Office funnyman Ed Helms to host the season’s penultimate episode, completing a stellar May Sweeps lineup that also includes Tina Fey and Justin Timberlake.

Joining Helms for the May 14 installment is legendary singer-songwriter and eight-time musical guest Paul Simon.

Helms’ inaugural SNL stint is pegged to the season finale of The Office and the opening of The Hangover II.

As TVLine previously reported, Fey kicks off SNL‘s batch of all-new episodes on May 7 accompanied by U.K. songstress Ellie Goulding. And popstar-turned-actor-turned-SNL staple Timberlake will close out the season with Lady Gaga by his side.

Happy that Helms is getting a shot at SNL hosting duties? Let us know in the comments.

  • With 3 new shows in a row, I fear they won’t have much left in the tank for the finale.

  • Wow….this is one of the best three episode line-ups I’ve seen them do. Tina Fey is obviously excellent. Ed Helms is hilarious and it’s taken too long to get him in. With all due respect to Alec Baldwin, Justin Timberlake is the best host of the past 10 years. Looking forward to Paul Simon and Lady Gaga’s squirrel carcass dress as well.

  • SNL did a wonderful job this year with they lineup of hosts. Props to Lorne Michaels for accomplishing that. The last three episodes are bound to be stellar.

  • Ed Helms should work really well along side many of the SNL cast, he had great report on Colbert and is a scene stealer in The Office and The Hangover. Looking forward to Fey and Timberlake too.

  • I agree that Baldwin just wouldn’t have cut it compared to the three they’ve chosen. He’s become an “everywhere” entertainer with all the commercials he’s doing lately. Looking forward to the last three episodes of the season.

  • Can we stop with Tina Fey already? She’s on all the time….either go back to SNL or don’t I’m kind of sick of her hosting and doing the same stuff.
