Glee Concert Tour Adds New Dates, New Faces

Get More: Glee, News

Citing a fast-growing number of sold-out venues, this summer’s “Glee Live! In Concert!” tour has added, no, not more exclamation points, but a half-dozen new dates and made available more tickets.

Also, the 18-city North American tour will now feature Ashley Fink (aka New Directions newbie Lauren Zizes) and (an unspecified number of unnamed) members of the Dalton Academy Warblers, in addition to the 13 cast members previously scheduled to perform.

Glee Scoop: Will and Emma… Reunited?

I did the math for you, and the recently added stops are:

May 25: San Jose, Calif. (at the HP Pavilion)
June 4: Chicago, Ill. (All State Arena), with a matinee
June 7: Uncasville, Conn. (Mohegan Sun)
June 9: Washington, D.C.  (Verizon Center)
June 12: Toronto, Ontario (Air Canada Centre), with a matinee
June 17: East Rutherford, N.J. (Izod Center)

The full schedule can be found at GleeTour.com. Tix are available via Ticketmaster.com, by phone at (800) 745-3000, or at any Ticketmaster Outlet.

Glee Preview: Will Sue’s ‘Legion of Doom’ Destroy New Directions?

Per Fox’s press release, this summer’s tour will find Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron et al performing “some of the show’s most memorable musical numbers from Seasons 1 and 2, including ‘Empire State of Mind,’ ‘Toxic,’ ‘My Life Would Suck Without You,’ ‘It’s My Life,’ and the show’s anthem, ‘Don’t Stop Believin’.’

What are “streetlight people” anyway? Always wondered about that one.

    • Nope, the original scheduled released in February only had TO down for June 11:

      • yeah, the original press release only had Toronto for June 11th (2 shows), but as the tickets sold out, they added 2 more shows for the 12th as well. so we’ve known about the additional Toronto shows for a while now…

      • Yes the June 12th date wasn’t on the original schedule, but it was added on a while ago.

      • They had added a matinee on June 11th when the evening performance had sold out in pre-sales and then added both a matinee and evening performance on June 12th before the tickets went on sale to the public…it’s been a while since I ordered my tickets for the June 12th show when they went on sale in February and received them in the mail already.

So excited that Lauren is going to be in the show!! And members of the warblers..gonna be a great show!!

        • OK, LOL, point taken — if you’ve been hustling for tickets in some of the cities with supplemental dates, you quite possibly already know about the adds! ;)

  • Jeez, are they going to get a break at all between filming?! Also, I’m going to the tour to see New Directions, I dont want a bunch of Warblers and Lauren “one-song-and-it-was-AWFUL!” Zizzes taking up valuable Rachel/Kurt/Santana/Mercedes/Puck/Artie singing time!!!

  • Still not touring anywhere near Atlanta.

    • Nope, no Southern dates (and NO, Washington DC doesn’t count).

Why are they scared of us? Do they think we’re like the Westboro folks? Those guys are out of Topeka, y’know… Southern Gleeks are feeling a little neglected here, Ryan!

      • Yeah, could they come anywhere in the South? Texas is massive and has no dates, and we LOVE Glee here. The cities are gay-friendly, too, it’s the country bits you have to watch out for. But if Gaga can come to San Antonio, so can Glee. Seriously.

        • Please come to Texas!

    • Agreed! Come to Atlanta! Not a single tour date in the South yet ones in England and Canada!!!!!

  • Hope they make the Warblers and opening act then the bulk of the show is New Directions.

  • Warblers on the tour. Finally after months of rumors, we know it’s true. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ok, Lauren sucking so bad isn’t funny. But it’s a TV show, so I can forgive them. But putting her on tour? WTF? This is a concert, did I miss the part where it turned into a comedy sketch tour?

  • They already had the June 9 in DC. I got tickets fir that a long time ago.

  • It seems virtually any concert I want to see is 2 states away and on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. I need to move back to Boston.

  • The extra San Jose date was added the day after tickets went on sale for the original date.

  • So wait – when they say that the “Warblers” will also be on tour, do they mean the actors who normally lip-synch to recordings of the Beelzebubs? Not sure how I feel about *that*

Comment by SamC – April 19, 2011 09:00 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • I think Darren Criss said in an interview somewhere that the guys who play the Warblers (and yes, lip-sync to the Beelzebubs) are actually the guys who record the demo tracks for New Directions. So they should be perfectly capable singers and should sound fine on tour.

  • From Seasons 1 and 1, Matt?

Do you have a link to the full list of concert locations? Any in Washington State?

I’ll be seeing them in Manchester, are they bringing the new cast members over with them or/and any guest stars?? Also as we had no tour last year will they play more Season 1 songs?

Comment by Kate – April 19, 2011 10:25 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
