Ratings: NCIS Tops Night, Parenthood Rises

NCIS dominated the Tuesday tallies this week, delivering 19.2 million total viewers and a 3.8 demo rating (up 6 percent week-to-week). NCIS: LA led out of that with 15.35 million viewers (a veritable tie with DWTS) and a time slot-winning 3.3. The Good Wife — almost kinda-sorta (but not) guest-starring Chris Noth! — then capped CBS’ night with an audience of 10.9 mil and a 2.0 rating, on par with its previous performance.

Elsewhere this Tuesday:

* NBC’s Parenthood (5.1 million/2.0) made a case for popping that pesky renewal bubble once and for all by registering gains of 8 and 5 percent, respectively.

* ABC’s Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution opened up its sophomore run with 5.3 million viewers and a 1.5 rating, improving on its Season 1 finale (yet down sharply from its March 2010 series premiere).

* The Dancing With the Stars results show matched its week-ago numbers, with 15.46 million viewers and a 3.0 rating.

* In its third week, ABC’s Body of Proof held steady and again won the 10 o’clock hour on both counts, with 11.1 million viewers and a 2.4 demo rating.

Well if Parenthood is on the bubble The event Chuck Harry’s law Lo&La and Outscored are certainly to be cancelled.
A 2.0 now is one of the best results for NBC in a drama. And the third after The office and Parks. So how is it on the bubble?

    • Esaul says:

Read his comment again. Think about it. Digest the words. Then read it for a third time. He’s saying that because of the ratings/viewers last night, Parenthood stands a chance to POP the bubble, which means to burst it. Which also further means it has a chance of getting off the bubble chart. Oh and btw, L&O:LA isn’t getting cancelled. Not after NBC spent the time and money of getting the show retooled.

      • Midori says:

L&O:LA is in trouble, Harry’s Law did a lot better and it didn’t do that great. However it will be several weeks to see how the new L&O does to be sure. It’s on NBC, it’s not like they have anything else. parenthood is only slightly OK because it’s steady and has a 2.0 demo.

The Event is dead, it’s been dead since it lost half it’s audience in a month back in the fall. NBC didn’t make it official, but the show is a disaster. Outsourced is most likely dead (thank gods) and same with Chuck.

  2. Kary says:

so happy to see Parenthood up. It was very intense episode. I´m sad it´s a finale next week already. Will miss the show.

  3. jasin says:

Parenthood was amazing last night. Monica Potter stole the show!

    • Kary says:

I think it was Lauren Graham who stole the show yesterday. Especially her realizing the Amber was high and her talk with Adam.

      • pl says:

Agreed, Lauren Graham was great. Monica Potter never steals the show, she usually just obsesses about something (Max’s autism, Haddie’s virginity, etc.) the whole hour.

        • Justin K says:

Lauren Graham stole the show. Hands down. Her dealing with Amber- the girl can act. Just the subtlety of her facial expressions says it all. So talented.

  4. ggny says:

with Chuck and L&O LA tanking in the ratings Monday i think it save to say Parenthood will be back

  5. fra says:

Parenthood is the second highest drama at 10 and of the all schedule, the third considering the comedies. How is it possible that is on the bubble.

  6. xav says:

The only show that mattered last night was The Good Wife. JULIANNA’S FACE AT THE END! I cannot wait for the next episode!

  7. tab says:

I prefer cable over broadcast any day. I was watching the season premiere of Deadliest Catch, which is way better than some dumb show like DWTS. How come you guys don’t provide more updates and details on cable network shows??

  8. Katy says:

I was watching my DVR; Hawaii 50.

  9. fernando says:

So glad Body Of Proof is doing so good,I love this show already and Dana Delany is amazing!

  10. Lena says:

Parenthood went up to 2.1 in the finals and beats TGW. me happy. 3rd season is getting closer.

  11. NoChance says:

Great news! “NCIS” with 19.2 million and did great with the 18-49 demographic.
Can’t wait for “Baltimore” airs on May 3 followed by the last 2 episodes of the season. I can’t wait.
Dollars to donuts it’s gonna be a long summer hiatus.

  12. keith says:

Parenthood is such a great show. NBC would be foolish not to renew it. Other than the comedies on Thursday, it’s the only show I watch on NBC.

  13. Justin K says:

Parenthood needs to be renewed. After last nights episode and the promos for next week- there HAS to be a season 3… and 4….and 5… haha. at least a 3

  14. Kelly says:

I will be devastated if Parenthood isn’t renewed. I love that show so much.

  15. bkwrm says:

I’m glad Parenthood is doing well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a renewal.

But what about the rating for Traffic Light? That show is hilarious. It really deserves more recognition.
