CBS Renews Amazing Race, Undercover Boss

Amazing Racers will keep running and company bosses will remain undercover, now that CBS has renewed its two Sunday-night reality series for new seasons.

A winner of seven Emmy Awards, The Amazing Race will take its 19th trip around the world this fall, CBS has announced. Undercover Boss meanwhile will brave a third cycle of well-intentioned “corporate espionage.”

Previously officially picked up for additional seasons by the Eye are Survivor, NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and, in theory, Two and a Half Men. TVLine’s complete Renewal Scorecard can be found here.

I love TAR! But Boss??? come on how many more seasons can you really have without the employees knowing they are on the show?

  2. Bob says:

Well, they’re 1 for 2 in the “Should be renewed” contest. Undercover Boss? CBS will probably end up canceling Hawaii 5-0 to keep this crudite on the air.

This is a race- teams should not be able to give other teams the answer to tasks!
That is like talking during an exam!!! This is a race not a popularity contest! Even my thirteen year old niece was upset about it.

I was upset too that teams were not penalized when a couple of teams did not follow the rule when they were in leichtenstein riding their bikes the length of that country. Some teams got the distance wrong and got the correct answer from another team and did begin over. Only the cowboys went back to the beginning but lost out because this ethical decision put them at the end of the pack. I’ve lost confidence in the program and may not watch it again. Maybe the cowboys wouldn’t have won anyway but they should have been given the chance.

I agree that teams should not be able to give each other the answer to tasks. Originally the program was based on teams winning because of their skill to solve problems and perform tasks. Now it has sunk to the level of “Survivor” where dishonesty and popularity win the prize. I have been a fan and recommended the program to everyone I knew from the beginning. However, I am re-thinking whether I will watch it anymore.
P.S. The cowboys should not have been eliminated as they completed the task as it was spelled out whereas a lot of the other teams did not.
