Pilot News: Heather Locklear Gets Assistants

The Assistants will answer to no less than Heather Locklear, now that the six-time Golden Globe nominee has signed on to star in the CBS pilot of that name.

Penned by Tucker Cawley (Everybody Loves Raymond), who will exec-produce with Eric and Kim Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men), the ensemble project revolves around the four assistants who are at the beck and call of a celebrity couple. Locklear will play Ali, an insecure actress and the female half of the demanding bosses. (The husband is yet to be cast.)

The aforementioned assistants, meanwhile, will be played by Emily Rutherfurd (aka Old Christine‘s “New Christine”), David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place, Ted’s HIMYM son), T.J. Miller (Carpoolers) and Lamorne Morris (Brain Rush).

Locklear’s litany of TV credits includes, of course, Dynasty, T.J. Hooker (no one has worn police blues better), Melrose Place and Spin City. Most recently, she fronted the Lifetime original movies He Loves Me and Flirting with 40.

    May “LAX” RIP.

  2. Anna says:

I hope CBS has learned a lesson from recent events and puts a sobriety clause in her contract.

  3. steven says:

This sounds promising – I have always loved the work of Emily Rutherford (New Adventures Of Old Christine).

  4. NEK5552 says:

It sounds like it has potential, but we all know CBS if it hasn’t got a cop or lawyer it isn’t going to get picked up. Which is said I would probably watch this.

  5. AlistairCrane says:

Still upset that the new Melrose Place ended with Amanda going to jail.

  6. Bob says:

I have to agree with other comments. They’re going out on a limb with her, given everything that’s happened in the last year or so. I’m sure they’ll have a very large escape clause if it gets picked up and she falls off the wagon (assuming she is on it currently).

  7. Jeri says:

She’s not exactly Charlie Sheen. A DUI does not mean she is a loose cannon.

Try to be a little less judgemental people.

  8. chris m. says:

Heather has been my favorite actress forever, I welcome any tv project and wish her the best. So what if she has a sobriety problem, she’s a great actress and gorgeous too.
