Pilot Scoop: Hank Azaria To Headline NBC Comedy Free Agents

Hank Azaria has been tapped to star in NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot Free Agents.

The project, based on the UK series of the same name, explores the attraction between on-the-rebound PR execs Alex (Azaria) and Helen (TBD).

Agents brings Azaria back to NBC, where he recurred on Friends and starred in the short-lived comedy Imagine That. Azaria also continues his voice work on The Simpsons and most recently headlined Showtime’s offbeat series Huff.

On the big screen, Azaria co-starred in Love and Other Drugs and can next be seen playing Gargamel in The Smurfs Movie.

  • Don’t forget he was also recurring on Mad About You, alongside his then-wife Helen Hunt.

  • Yeah, he was “Nat, The Dog Walker” on “Mad About You”, with his now ex-wife, Helen Hunt! It was actually his first big-break, pre-dating his role on “Friends”.

  • Huff was brilliant. Loved Hank in Spamalot on B’way. His performance in Bird Cage equaled the talents of Robin Williams and Nathan Lane. Obviously, I’m a big fan. Hope the show is worthy of him.
