Hot Video: Men's Jon Cryer Lands a New Job

Jon Cryer thus far has been steadfastly mum on the sordid sitch with Two and a Half Men costar Charlie Sheen. But on Thursday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, he has a little bit of fun with his and the hitcom’s questionable future.

Two and a Half Men, CBS Bosses Break Silence on Charlie Sheen

In a pre-taped segment, Ellen arrives for work at her daytime talker, greeting many a staffer on her way through the halls. Press PLAY below to see how Cryer is collecting a paycheck now that CBS’ money train has stalled. (And do you think his last line is a sort of embedded “commentary” on this past week’s mishigas?)

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

So Alan works for Ellen now …

    • Annonimus says:

If Charlie is going to die at least it could be done with style. E.g. : All his x – girlfriends come to the funeral and start burring him. I’m just hoping that Ashton Kutcher won’t be such a screw up

  2. Earwig says:

I love Jon Cryer, here´s an idea for Two and a Half Men, Charlie Dies and leaves the house & the money for Jake – who gets some girl pregnant and is forced to keep the baby and the cherry on the top – Alan “dark persona” takes over.

  3. John Berggren says:

I’m not the hugest fan of the show, but I do think the fairest thing for the other cast members would be to reconfigure the show without Charlie. Have Berta move in.

  4. ade says:

Jon is such a class act

  5. kathy says:

I love Jon and all of the other actors/characters on the show… I think Alan has some of the best situations..wish Berta and Mom were on more often.
Ditch Charlie… build something around the others!

    • Mary says:

I completely agree. I think Sheen is the least important actor on the show, anyone could play his part. Jon Cryer is the whole show.

  7. amy says:

Hilarious! And a good way to comment on the ongoing drama without in any way being less than classy or fanning the flames. Have loved Jon Cryer since “Pretty in Pink.”

  8. Kelly says:

Love Jon Cryer. He was great on two and a half men. His movie Hiding Out is a guilty pleasure of mine and he made Pretty in Pink for me. That was funny and classy. Hope they continue the show, have the character charlie bolt to europe with some godesses and leave the house to Alan and make it a condition that some cousin or old friend of Charlie lives there too (john stamos, william baldwin, etc)

  9. Jess says:

Jon Cryer has handle this whole situation with class and humor. Obviously it’s easier for him because he gets paid for the rest of the season regardless of the episodes completed…but it still can’t be a great feeling to know your very successful job has gone down the drain because of the actions of your coworker. I have no doubt if he continues to behave with grace and keeps a smile on his face he will come through this “train wreck” just fine.

  10. awsome says:

Haha love him great actor. :/ so bad that the show is going so bad with all the problems

  11. Joyce Ninen says:

Two & 1/2 Men could very easily recover without Charlie Sheen, in my opinion. The other cast members are great and deserve much better. Maybe you could “kill off” Charlie, with a car accident, DWI, which he richly deserves. For touting this as a “family” program, this is fantasy! Simply adding another person (a long lost relative, maybe Evelyn’s child out of wedlock?) this sitcom could recover. I am so tired of the arrogant Charlie Sheen that I am ready to watch whatever programs Chuck Lorre presents. I love “The Big Bang Theory” which is a superior “family” program. My support goes to Chuck Lorre and the CBS Network.

  12. Louise says:

I’m rooting for the show continuing without Charlie. I think they should ship him off to rehab with Rose stalking him there. Charlie’s self-centered mantra can still be heard through the other characters. If he’s willing to cross a picket line, they should bring back Martin Sheen as Rose’s daddy, who will help her get over Charlie (there’s a plot that could go on for years with many variations and besides he’s got many problems of his own for cultivating!). Give Evelyn and Berta bigger roles. And just bring in another male character to spar with Alan. Maybe in this scenario, Alan can be the cool guy. Better yet–>Have Alan wake up on the first show in his bed in Judith’s house following a protracted nightmare–the first 8 seasons of the show!!! He never divorced Judith, never lived with Charlie, never married Kandi, never got called Skippy by Berta, and Judith never married Herb. Make up all new personas for the cast; all different histories. What fun!! Listen, “Cheers” not only survived but thrived following a major character’s departure; “Frasier” managed to build many hysterical episodes around the ever-absent Maris; and Bob Newhart ended his show in Vermont by waking up with Suzanne Pleshette, his wife from his first sitcom (best series ender ever!!). C’mon producers–don’t let it die!!! Even if you have to change the show’s title. Just do it!!

  13. Chris Harris says:

I’m a huge fan of the show. I like all the actors, including Charlie. I think the producers of the show should keep it going for another season, minus Charlie Sheen. There are so many directions for the remaining characters to go… the producers have to realize that the popularity of the show was not due to just one actor , but a concerted effort of all the actors involved. Whats the line “One bad apple don’t spoil the whole bunch”… well, now the “bad apple” has been tossed. Of course, true actors could ‘act’ through all of the “hoopla”. There have been many programs in the past that the actors have fought ‘off set’ and done great ‘on set’ and nobody ever knew the difference. Why not try to bring the show back, original cast, next year for a final season.

  14. Lightbrand says:

Charlie elopes with Rose. Leaving the house in Alan’s care,

Meanwhile Judith kicks Herb out, Two and a Half Men 1.5.

  15. Nicole says:

I love two and a half men, great show!! So do all my co-workers we talk about it all the time and a friend of mine had an idea, what if Mom has a third son that noone knew about except Charlie & Mom and Charlie leaves the house to him to take care of Alan and Jake. The brother could be played by Jack Black..c’mon he’d be wicked funny with Berta right??

  16. Phil says:

Charlie gets trashed and has a threesome with Berta and her sister which ultimately kills him. Alan inherits the house & money,(turns into Charlie with the woman) Jake knocks up a girl (names him Charlie).
Herb and Judith break up because the baby is really Alan’s and Herb moves in with Alan.
