    • Hope they have extended the car park to accomodate the contestants walking frames.

    • Indeed. They’re all A-list stars. Maybe I’d recognize the Karate Kid guy… (I mean, 20 years ago)

  • I think they are running out of stars….I’ve heard of 2 of those 5. Haha!!

Comment by V – February 28, 2011 07:01 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • I recognize two of those names, and couldn’t care less about the others. I hope that the rest of the contestants are people who would appeal to older viewers.

    • If thats how ya’all think about the show, then why do you watch or take the time to comment? Seriously people, do you really have to be so negative? Id like to see YOU up there dancing, its gotta be alot of hard work! I like that they get a variety of different people. BTW Im only 38 and I know all of the stars, and Im not “old”.If its “dancing with the nobodies” then one would know them, not to mention how many “nobodies” are saying mean stuff on here? Just a thought.

  • Now you know why I call this show Dancing With The Hasd-beens.

  • I know 8 out of the 11. I obviously need to beef up on my pop culture knowledge.

Comment by Marisa – February 28, 2011 08:18 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Looks like another season of no watching because there is no one of interest again. Who is doing the casting anyhow?

Comment by Anna – February 28, 2011 08:24 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • DWTS wanted Chris Jericho before, but he couldn’t do it because DWTS is live on Mondays, and he was on WWE Monday Night Raw, also live on Mondays. Now he’s taking a break from WWE, so he can do it.

Comment by Beau Hajavitch – February 28, 2011 08:30 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • I know of 6 of them. Will I be watching? Probably the first two episodes like I do every season and then not watch the rest until the finale lol.

Comment by Lolita Connor – February 28, 2011 09:06 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Sorry, I don’t see an actual “star” in the whole bunch.

Comment by CJ – February 28, 2011 09:23 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • So sad that soap star Colleen Zenk wasn’t cast!

Comment by boidiva02 – February 28, 2011 09:25 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • I’ll watch the parts with Kirstie Alley and Wendy Williams. i love them.

Comment by Steven – February 28, 2011 10:37 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Well I guess every Teesday/Wednesday morning we’ll be getting “Dancing 20% down from fall premiere”, “Dancing drop 15% from last week”, “Dancing hits season low”, “Dancing finale lowest rated ever”.

C’mon, seriously, I’ve heard of 4 people on that list. Even The Celebrity Apprentice has a more famous cast this year.

Comment by Chmarin – March 1, 2011 12:27 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Looks like Joel McHale will have something to make fun of, especially when it comes to Wendy Williams.

Comment by Ryan – March 1, 2011 12:48 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • Can’t wait!!! I love The Soup!

Comment by V – March 1, 2011 06:50 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • This show never has true “stars”. They always get either fringe-celebs or has-beens.

    Who watches this stuff?

I wonder if the Rat-Pack rolls in their graves every time they hear the word star used with this garbage!

Comment by JD – March 1, 2011 04:40 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Wait… which ones are the “stars”?

Comment by Alex – March 1, 2011 04:51 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • LOL! I am so glad to see that I am not the only one who only knew a few tnames on that list, I recognize three, not actually stars but I have heard of them.

Comment by peggy – March 1, 2011 05:34 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • I have heard of them all except the radio guy. Who is he that he is considered a “star”? I don’t really consider any of them stars except for Hines Ward, and only because of the recent Superbowl.

Comment by heather – March 1, 2011 06:22 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • For once, I have heard of everyone in the line-up. I think it sounds like a pretty interesting cast. I am curious to find out tomorrow who everyone is paired up with. I think it will be hard for the radio guy to make it past the first week and Sugar Ray will go far (depending on his partner).

  • Sadly again, my household won’t be watching DWTS! So tired of Playboy sleeze bags being cast on the show! Kids don’t recognize them and ask why they’re stars. How do you say “cause they’ve spread their legs for the entire world to see”? Seriously DWTS, clean up the show … Ballroom dancing should be classy & elegant, not sleezey & trashy! :(

Comment by Kelly Brackemyre – March 1, 2011 07:15 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • From 1 mom to another~ I agree kids should not know the names of people who do things suck as Kendra but people make mistakes.I think she is trying to clean up her act/image, being a NFL wife and a mom. Given her lack of a father figure had a gr8 mom!)you have to give her slack. I dont approve AT ALL posing for magazines like that BUT I know she had reasons, she prob still may not realize.Thats what growing up is all about. We ALL (even you as I) have done things we shouldnt have, regret. Your kids (and mine) will do the same. BTW,Kendra has done alot of good too~People magazine stuff to show women they dont have to be perfect to love themselves, esp after having a baby! Love that!Pam A did some awful things too, but she has done ALOT for PETA, been in movies/TV, and promotes “green living. That has to count for something.Even if many of us parents never want them to know what people like that are famous for. Why not tell your kids the positive things theyve done? Helping the cause of animals/PETA is a GREAT thing! Im sure your kids know or will know many celebs who have done bad things. Positive parenting means turning negative to positive. Just my 0.02.

  • I’ve actually heard of everyone (although not so much the radio guy)and look forward to the season. I look forward to it every year no matter who is on!! Glad there doesn’t seem to be anyone that is a real dancer and main contender this year!

Comment by tori – March 1, 2011 08:26 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Looks like I’m one of the few readers who’s OK with this cast. At least I don’t hate anyone. I don’t know all of them, but time will fix that.

I’m aging myself when I admit I had a HUGE crush on Ralph Macchio in the 80s, so he’ll be my sentimental favorite.

Last season, Kyle Massey was my fave. Since he works with Chelsea on Disney’s Fish Hooks, I hope he stops by for a visit.

Comment by Lorie – March 1, 2011 08:30 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • I am looking forward to this season because

    1) No vile personalities (Kate Gosselin), or slimy future jailbirds (Tom Delay & Lawrence Taylor), or blatant gimmick (Bristol)

    2) No obvious ringers who will hardly give the rest of the cast a chance to keep up (Nicole S? really?)

    3) and the reason I was really happy last night about the reveal… my man Hines Ward of the Steelers! One of my two favorite men on the team. Haven’t been this excited since Marlee Matlin in season 6 which is how I started watching the show.

Comment by Megalion – March 1, 2011 09:30 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Isn’t the title of this show Dancing With the STARS? Pffft… Thank goodness Kristie Alley and Sugar Ray are in there. Gives the title of the show some credence.

Comment by Thom – March 1, 2011 11:07 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Awh.. come on folks! We’re all stars here on planet earth in the game of life! I just love watching this show and movin’ at home with the music. It’s a feel good show! I think anyone who is willing to get on that floor and give it a try deserves recognition for that alone. And I find it enjoyable to watch the improvements from week to week in every contestant who’s giving it their all. Like most of them have said… “it’s a lot harder than it looks.” And of course, the pro’s make it look so easy :) It’s entertainment at its best. Even the judges are great – glad they don’t change from season to season! Get with the beat people — it’s so much better than watching (and listening) to the chase scenes in most movies anymore. I look forward to each new season with delight!

  • Chelsea Kane? She was Chelsea Staub for so long. What made her change her name all of the sudden?
