Get More: News, Renewals

Father’s Day has come early for Fox’s American Dad.

Seth MacFarlane’s animated Sunday staple has been picked up for a seventh season.

The 22-episode order — which is expected to be spread out over the next two seasons — ensures that Stan and Co. will be around through May 2013.

    • I agree. At first I wasn’t a huge fan of the show, but it grew on me after a little while. Next to the Venture Bros., it is my favorite animated show on TV.

  • Awesome news – it really is the best of the 3 MacFarlane shows; Roger is wicked funny.

But does having it spread over two seasons means only 11 new episodes each year? That would kind of suck.

  • There is actually only 23 episodes that haven’t aired yet – the entire 22 episodes that make up the sixth production season, plus one episode from the fifth production season.

These episodes from the newly-ordered seventh production season won’t be broadcast until March/April 2012 at the earliest.
