Grimm News: Pilot Adds Prison Break Alum

Get More: Casting News, News, Pilots

Casting is looking very good for Grimm, now that Silas Weir Mitchell, whom Prison Break fans will remember as “Haywire,” has landed the second lead in the buzzy NBC pilot.

Created by David Greenwalt (Profit) and Jim Kouf (Angel), the project is described as a fantastical cop drama in which characters from Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist. The story revolves around a cop (played by David Giuntoli of MTV’s Turn the Beat Around) who starts to see some humans for what they actually are — animals/beasts — and realizes it’s his destiny to protect society from them. Mitchell will play the series’ “lead creature,” a reformed big, bad wolf (per Deadline).

Grimm just the other day received props from Adrian Pasdar, who starred on Greenwalt’s famously fantastic yet short-lived Fox series. “[It is] just as good [as Profit],” he effused. “It’s amazing.”

In addition to his twitchy Prison Break persona, Mitchell has guested on numerous series, including 24, Burn Notice and My Name Is Earl.

  • I loved this when it was a still-running comic called “Fables.” I kid, I kid! I’m looking forward to this even if it does kind of rip-off dozens of comics and even some old T.V. shows. Just hope it’s not uber-cheesy, like “Beauty & The Beast” from the 80′s.

  • You could put “Angel” next to Greenwalt’s name too ya know.

    I’m hopeful for this show.
