Scoop: Glee Bosses Plot Horror Show For FX

Get More: News, Pilots

Glee co-creators/executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are returning to the scene of their first TV smash: FX.

The duo behind Nip/Tuck are producing a new hour-long drama pilot for the cabler titled American Horror Story.

American Horror Story is a wildly brilliant original series,” says FX president John Landgraf. “Ryan and Brad, who created it together, are evil geniuses.”

Little is known about the premise, except that it’s a horror show with “subversive sensibilities,” said Falchuk.

Murphy, meanwhile, assured Glee fans that “we haven’t taken our eyes off that ball for a second. We’ve broken the stories for the season’s remaining episodes and we’ve got big things planned for our little glee club as it strives to make it past Regionals to the all-important Nationals competition in New York City.”

  • Nooooooo!!! When will Ryan Murphy just go away?! FX has been a better channel without him.

    • Just stick with Glee, Mr. Murphy, so that I can ignore your work completely.

  • I hope they can remember how to write a show with a plot.

  • I am not hopeful. This season of Glee has been mediocre at best.

  • Ryan Murphy needs to quit his life.

  • I’m happy about this, if only because it will force Murphy and Falchuck to become more hands-off producers, hire an actual writing staff for Glee, and leg Ian Brennan start steering Glee back towards his original quirky-sad vision for the show. Not gonna happen, I know, but at least the writing staff might help.

  • The last pilot Murphy did for FX wasn’t taken to series. It was the only pilot order that FX didn’t give a season order to.

Nip/tuck went downhill after season 2.

  • horay…everyone knows that Ian Brennan is the best producer/writer on Glee…just give him fully control already and the show will improve exponentially.

  • The moment they said Aural Intensity was the other team to beat at regionals, you know that means they’re going to nationals this year. Otherwise why bother introducing Charice and a new coach for Vocal Adrenaline at the beginning of Season 2?

Season 2 has definitely been hit or miss. Ryan Murphy never met a whim he could say no to.

Since Blaine is supposed to be a season regular starting with Season 3, I predict both he and Kurt will be transferring to McKinley by then.

    • Yeah, I thought maybe Blaine transferring would happen sooner, maybe that was what Bills, Bills, Bills was going to be about.
And one of the cast, possibly Mark or Cory said that they were filming two episodes in New York soon, so obviously they’re going to Nationals!

I like TV horror, I’ll watch this show if it’s made, Ryan is crazy, it could be really fun!!

  • I am grateful to Glee for taking the magnificent Lea Michele off the Broadway stage, where a comparative few could see her (and at those prices!), and letting all of America hear her voice. And Amber Riley too. I would sit through shows with zero storyline to hear those two sing!

    • I agree! Especially about Lea Michele. Honestly, she’s the reason why I still watch the show.

  • I wish Ryan Murphy would take his eyes off the GLEE ball. That way we might get a coherent series. But I see they have “big things planned”. Does this mean there will be actual thought going into the upcoming episodes instead of the Murphy random-porn that spoils what could be a truly great series?
