Smallville Exclusive: [Spoiler] Unmasked!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the biggest piece of Smallville news since Michael Rosenbaum’s confirmed resurrection as Lex Luthor!

Warning: The following story and accompanying photo are tres spoilery. Proceed at your own risk!

As foreshadowed in the final seconds of Friday’s episode (as well as a certain AA Asterisk Quiz), Luthor clone Alexander (played by Lucas Gabreel) is actually… Conner frakkin’ Kent!

Although I can’t say when exactly his secret identity will be revealed — cough “Scion” cough — I can confirm (via the exclusive photo above) that an upcoming episode contains a not-too-subtle nod to the character’s super-powered lineage. (Turns out Conner is something of a Blur fanboy.)

“Conner’s journey is manipulated by a master,” showrunners Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders reveal exclusively to TVLine. “Luckily, someone knows more about Conner’s life than he does. But he should be wary of strangers bearing gifts.”

Thoughts? Are you surprised? Or did you see this twist coming faster than a speeding bullet?

  • honestly have 0 clue as to this connor kent… explanation will be v. appreciated!
ps. is it just me or is this season feeling a bit rushed? everything seems to be crammed in since there’s no more time to fully develop many great storylines. each storyline lasts like 1 ep. i wish these storylines were shown more w/ more seasons :(
i want the whole justice league back! flash & cyborg!!

  • IMDb only lists Lucas Gabreel for two episdoes. So in true SV fashion, he will be one and done as Superboy. Also, so many people are listed for the finally I may get a headache.

  • Conner? Yet he wasn’t affected by the Green K in the gun? Faux pas?

    • its not connor mate this is one big useless rumor, its lex full stop all the sotry line fits to that and there not facts to say this is connor like its been said he wasnt effected by Green K, plus its been confirmed tht michael R playing lex again in last episode and is directing it also there using the original teenage lex actor back in the early season. the story line is lex is bk but like in the comic books lex has a bionic suit maybe there making it like th in a sence, like the suit larna stole

  • Cool. I’m actually relieved that Michael Rosenbaum won’t be playing a Lex clone. It’s more fitting that the real Lex avoided death yet again and that Oliver is not a murderer. I didn’t really blame him for trying to kill Lex, though. Obviously, what he did was wrong, but we all know how evil Lex is.

  • apparently the real lex will be makin a few cameos at the end

  • you’ll notice his hair is darkening, its no longer the red it was in the younger clone. I noticed in the episode and just figured the actor didnt have the bright red hair Lex was supposed to have. If you look in the pic above, his hair hair is brown!

  • I think and hope that Clark=The Blur and Connor Kent or Major/General Zod… will combine thier powers to defeat either Lex or Darkseid or both of them with the Help of Supergirl and hopefully the others …aquaman, flash, cyborg, Star Girl and possibly even Hawkman…as for why they are not continuing Smallville.. was reading online that a family is suing someone in court… so they can’t use the Superman name after a certain date when the case goes to court

Comment by Robertk – February 14, 2011 07:25 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • It would be cool to see Cyborg come back and either have a look closer to his comic book version, actually show up in person and not on a computer screen in video chat, mention that he is a mentor to some super TEENs. and I the that the law suit was for the movies and not the tv shows.

  • If he’s Superboy, why isn’t he vunerable to Kryptonite like Clark? He has all of Lex’s memories and looks him, but he’s a mini Clark?

My next question is, how did Lex get a hold of Clark’s DNA, since you can’t penetrate his skin in a normal way?

Comment by robinepowell – February 14, 2011 10:41 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • no your all wrong that say he looks the most like lex you need to compare his picture to clarks he looks more like clark in this picture. for real.

  • Bring on Young Justice I think that would be cool with familiar and unfamiliar faces from the dc universe, I would love a justice league movie too but that wont happen until marvel make the avengers movie.
love, love, love, smallville still can’t believe it’s the last season.

  • Superboy already?!?! That is weird. Darkseid…vanished already?? Also Deathstroke the Terminator (the guy with the ey patch thing)..that’s…another comic book villain but oh well. I’m just really really really really hoping for Gene Hackman to have a cameo after all you guys had just about every main charactor from the Superman movies show up.

  • … I got one question… with all these “Kryptonians” popn up, when Clark finally reveals himself to the world how will they not see it as some kind of potential “invasion”? lol I mean with Clark, Kara, Zodd comeing back. and now Conner lol gotta admit its a become a lil hard to maintain the title of “last son of krypton” =P

Comment by CalLendros – February 15, 2011 01:21 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • i hope krypto will be in the finale

  • Dont make no sence tho even tho hes in the comics it does not fit the story line at all, i mean lex is back its been confirm tht michael R will be playing lex in the final episode and thts the whole point of the finish, to set superman and lex up to continue the legend of there battle. to introduce connor in this wheres lex gonna be then unless there is another clone. u cant have connor being connor and lex aswell. so they have to go one way or the other, plus hes not even superman yet ffs so why they introducing all these future characters tht came so much more after he became superman in the first place.
not feeling very optomistic any more about the last episode if thts what there gonna do

Comment by Simon – February 15, 2011 02:36 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • also there using the original character as teenage lex back in the early seasons when at exsalicor or what ever its called. so they cnt be going in the direction of connor kent. would not make no sence

Comment by Simon – February 15, 2011 02:39 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • I think this will be a once episode deal where the clone is turned into Connor Kent or wants to be called Connor Kent etc and by the end of the episode something will change that will be a betrayal to the clone and he will slowly start to slide back to being Lex in time for the finale. I think that once the clone hits Lex’s age when he “died” that he will maybe stop ageing so quickly and level out, also he will forget things that happen since he was made and his memories will sort of flow like the real Lex’s, for all intents and purposes he will be Lex.

  • I’ve loved Smallville the last 3 seasons, but I’m not sure I like this development. We’ve just spent 10 seasons of Smallville watching the story of Superboy … and now they’re going to give us another Superboy before we even get Superman???

Comment by John T – February 15, 2011 10:25 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • What Superboy? You mean that mopey, lying, stealing, mindwiping scum called Clark Kent?

Comment by Jen – February 16, 2011 08:44 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Um, i am fully expecting a big back lash here, but i thought Superboy was also vulnerable to Kryptonite, if so why didnt the gun with kryptonite bullets effect him?
    Have i missed something here?

  • P.S. Remember the SUPERBOY television series? With the hot Stacy Haiduk as a sexy Lana Lang and Sherman Howard (“Bub” from Romero’s “Day of the Dead) as Lex Luthor??

  • It is stupid for cw or the producers to bring in superboy before superman is establist, i love smallville but i’d wish batman and wonderwoman would be brought in first before the show leave’s the air

  • Just saw the finale. It’s true that there have been many yawns, groans and unanswered queation in this series. I don’t know how they did it, but they managed to take all the screwups and confusing subplots, made them not matter anymore and possibly delivered the best damn episode of any Superman series in TV history with this series finale. I never thought I would say it, but well done!!
