Blue Bloods' Lonely Hearts Celebrate Valentine's

Get More: News, Previews

This Wednesday on Blue Bloods (CBS, 10/9c), all the single Reagans (to paraphrase Beyoncé) enjoy a night out on the town to celebrate Valentine’s Day in not-so-lonely a manner.

“There are quite a few single Reagans,” Will Estes notes, alluding to unattached Jamie, his divorced sister Erin (played by Bridget Moynahan), their widowed father, Frank (Tom Selleck), and granddad Henry (Len Cariou). “So we all end up going out together.”

Being a brood of upstanding law-enforcement types, Estes says things get “not too wild.” After all, “We’re supposed to keep the peace!”

Though the aforementioned Reagans’ love lives are at assorted stages of stand-still, there is love to be found on the Blue Bloods set, especially when it comes to revering TV vet Selleck. Says Estes, “Everyone tells me that my scenes with Tom are really good, and I know that’s because working with a great actor makes you better.”

Of course, another secret to Blue Bloods‘ freshman success is its on- and off-screen home base, New York City aka the city that never sleeps. “It’s been tough weather,” Estes notes in the midst of a frigid shoot on the streets of Washington Heights, “but I love it. People fought hard to get this  shot here, because it’s hard to do a show that looks great outside of New York City. So we have fun.”

Still, Estes wouldn’t mind seeing Jamie having fun of his own, namely in the form of someone to keep warm with on these chilly NYC nights.  “Maybe he could get a date one of these days,” the actor says with a self-effacing shrug. “That would be nice.”

  • I love Will Estes. Ever since he played JJ Pryor on American Dreams.
