Well, wonder no more because Cowell is weighing in on Idol 2.0, and the verdict is…
It’s good. Never one to gush about, well, anything, Cowell told reporters Monday that Idol is doing a fine job since his departure.
“I haven’t seen a full episode — I saw a three-minute recap,” he said, “[but] from what I’ve seen and from what I’ve heard, it all seems to be going well. And I always thought that would be the case.” Cowell added that “what I was more concerned about was the ratings falling off a cliff, meaning that the whole genre might be over. The good news is that people are still excited about these shows, whether it be… Dancing With the Stars, which has gotten better over the years, America’s Got Talent….” and so on.
Fun fact: Simon’s 527-word X Factor bio does not once mention Idol.

The NBC hit will be missing its funnyman for a few upcoming episodes, but his absence will be explained. Maybe he’s on location shooting Queen of Jordan with the wife?
• Lost alum Ken Leung (Miles) will appear in an upcoming episode of The Good Wife, says TV Guide, as a man suing a social networking site over privacy laws.
• Eight-time Grammy winner, and current nominee, Barbra Streisand is returning to the stage to perform at this Sunday’s awards ceremony on CBS.
• Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin will appear as herself on an episode of The CW’s Hellcats this season, TV Guide reports.
